Looking back, it’s easy to forget just how popular TLC‘s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” actually was.
Debuting in 2012, the reality show followed the day to day lives of the titular Honey Boo Boo (a.k.a. Alana Thompson) and her family, after first coming to viewers’ attention as a pint-sized pageant contestant in TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiarras.”
The series quickly transcended being just a TV hit with huge ratings, becoming a massive pop-culture phenomenon until the show was abruptly canceled in 2014.
Since then, her mom — “Mama June” Shannon — has been the star of long-running We series “Mama June: From Not to Hot,” chronicling the goings on in her life after embarking on a weight-loss journey that saw her shed nearly 300 lbs.
Pumpkin’s Lucrative New Gig
For viewers of the show wondering what ever happened to Honey Boo Boo’s older sister, Pumpkin (a.k.a. Lauryn Efird), she shared an update during a recent appearance on “The TMZ Podcast.”
According to the former reality TV star, she’s now offering adult content via OnlyFans — and business has been booming.
She told the podcast that she raked in a cool $10K on her first day on the site. Since then, she’s started offering more explicit content, which has been earning even more money, revealing she recently brought in between $14,000 to $15,000 during just one day.
Her Family Is ‘Super Supportive’
While it would be understandable that her family may not be thrilled about the way she’s been earning money, viewers of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” will also be aware that her family is far from ordinary.
As she told TMZ, not only is she receiving no admonishment from her mother and sister, they are 100-percent onboard and fully supportive of her OnlyFans efforts.
“My family is super supportive,” Efird said.
“I know that my mama’s goal is to make sure, obviously, that I make the amount of money that I need to make on exactly what I’m selling,” she said, noting that her mother even promotes her spicy content on her social media.
The erstwhile Honey Boo Boo also does her part to promote Pumpkin’s content via social media.
“She’s telling people, ‘Pumpkin’s got a deal going on — half off [subscriptions] this week,’” Efird explained.
“So my family … [I’m] super grateful for how involved they are. … You don’t get that a lot,” she observed.
‘Hardcore’ Sells
Speaking with TMZ, Efird revealed that earlier this month she began providing “hardcore” content, five months after joining OnlyFans.
Judging by her comments, the money she’s been making by going the X-rated route has been substantial — although she also observed that “all money ain’t good money.”
TMZ first reported on Efird joining OnlyFans back in March, inviting fans to “Come enjoy the spicy side of me.”
At the time, she revealed that OnlyFans had exceeded her wildest expectations, divulging that she had earned some big bucks within her first two weeks. “We’re almost in the six-figure range,” she exclaimed, revealing she was diversifying from just solo content by also sharing content made with her boyfriend Darrin Kitchens.
