Soap opera legend Morgan Fairchild is known for always bringing the glamour to the screen. However, the 76-year-old actress went in a completely different direction for a recent outing. Fairchild, who guest starred as Chandler’s mom on “Friends” in the ‘90s, was seen in Los Angeles sporting a casual, edgy look that was a huge departure from the polished gowns and sophisticated looks fans have become accustomed to seeing her wear over the years.
Morgan Fairchild Unrecognizable in New Look
For this recent outing, which Hello! Magazine shared, the 1980s soap opera star traded her Hollywood glamour in for a rock-inspired look built around an oversized black T-shirt, which featured a colorful Godzilla graphic.
Fairchild paired the statement shirt with slim-fitting black pants and black sock-style sneakers, keeping the rest of her outfit simple and comfortable.
Despite the edgy look, Fairchild was still able to incorporate some of her signature touches into the look.
To start, she still had her platinum-blonde hair, which she wore down with plenty of volume. She paired it with dark eye makeup, which added to that rock-chick feel of the outfit. The look was completed with a gold watch and several bracelets.
This is a totally new look for Fairchild, who became known for playing glamorous and powerful women throughout her decades-long career.
One of TV’s Most Recognizable Stars
Fairchild got her start in Hollywood working as Faye Dunaway’s body double in the 1967 movie “Bonnie and Clyde.” She then landed her big break when she landed the role of Jennifer Pace on the daytime soap opera “Search for Tomorrow.” She appeared on the series from 1973 until 1977.
Fairchild went on to play the original Jenna Wade on “Dallas” before taking on the role of Constance Weldon Semple Carlyle in “Flamingo Road.” She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance on “Flamingo Road.”
She went on to build an impressive TV resume with roles in “Paper Dolls” and “Falcon Crest.” Fairchild would earn an Emmy nomination for a guest appearance on “Murphy Brown.”
Years later, she would become familiar to a new generation of television viewers thanks to “Friends.” Fairchild played Nora Tyler Bing, the glamorous and over-the-top mother of Chandler Bing. She appeared in five episodes of the hit sitcom between 1995 and 2001.
A Return to Her Soap Opera Days
While she may have stepped away from the soap opera world, she never left it behind. In early 2026, Fairchild returned to “The Bold and the Beautiful” after a 17-year absence.
She would reprise her role as wealthy socialite Dottie. She originally appeared alongside Jim J. Bullock, so no doubt he had to be there for this reunion.
The pair were returned to the show with a storyline surrounding a fashion show in San Francisco.
Outside of acting, Fairchild has also teamed up with her younger sister, actress Cathryn Hartt, for their podcast, “2 B*tches from Texas.”
Fairchild also recently had another nostalgic reunion when she reunited with “I Dream of Jeannie” star Barbara Eden. The two happened to be recording interviews for an upcoming documentary about their late “Dallas” co-star Larry Hagman.
