The finale for “Survivor” season 50 has only just aired, but excitement for season 51 is already kicking off. In one of the first trailers for the next chapter of the show, it has been confirmed that an iconic first challenge will start season 51, pitting players against each other in an early race for critical supplies.
On Wednesday, May 20, CBS gave “Survivor” fans a first look at season 51 via a new trailer. The trailer was released during the finale coverage for season 50, where it was revealed that Aubrey Bracco had earned the title of sole survivor following Rizo Velovic’s loss to Jonathan Young during the firemaking contest.
The season 51 trailer offers an “exclusive look” at the next batch of “Survivor” players, including confirmation that season 51 will include the day one supply rush, where tribes must grab as many essential items from a boat as possible in an attempt to get an upper hand early in the game.
Survivor Season 51 Starting Supplies Can Change the Game
In an Instagram reel shared on the official SurvivorPBS account, a sneak-peek trailer for season 51 has been posted alongside season 50 finale clips. The video states that season 51 “is about to birth a new kind of game.” The trailer goes on to explain that tactics and strategies from older seasons will make a reappearance.
Of these older challenges, the trailer confirmed that the “Survivor” season 51 cast will be put to the test within minutes of arriving at the island. In the video clip, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst can be heard telling the players they have “two minutes to get everything you can off this boat.”
The players can be seen grabbing supplies and throwing them over the sides of the boat before jumping into the water below. The arrival supply challenge dates as far back as season 6, and has been used in dozens of seasons since. Players have the opportunity to grab what would typically be late-game supplies, from building materials and tools to found sources such as chickens.
After throwing as much as possible into the water within the two-minute timeframe, players must swim with the acquired goods to shore and lug the gear back to camp. This can be an exhausting process, and eat into previous base-building time on day one. It can also be a key to alliance creation, depending on what players grab, as these supplies can be vital to early tribe success.
Survivor 51 Will Contain Every Twist From Past Years
GettyFollowing the twists and intensity of gameplay in season 50, “Survivor” season 51 will be pulling out the stops, according to the teaser trailer. After the supply run clip, a voice-over from Probst confirms that, “This one has no boundaries.”
Probst goes on to state, “For the first time ever, our entire history, every advantage, every Idol, every twist we’ve ever done – fifty seasons of Survivor is in play.”
The confirmation that every element of “Survivor” will be in play creates a unique sense of excitement for season 51. From blindsides following exile island trips to Idol hunts, it will likely be a season unlike any that have previously aired.
“Survivor” season 51 will begin airing on Paramount+ during the fall of 2026.
