MAJOR ‘SURVIVOR 49’ SPOILER ALERT!!! Here’s your warning – This post will contain references to HUGE spoilers for ‘Survivor’ Season 49, including which castaways supposedly make the jury as well as the rumored Final 3. Read on at your own risk!!!
After the most recent episode of “Survivor 49” witnessed castaway Jake Latimer pulled from the game following an “unprecedent” medical emergency, as well as the exit of Jeremiah Ing, who became the third person voted off the island, just 14 players remain in the running for the season’s $1 million grand prize and the coveted title of “Sole Survivor.”
While the preview for next week’s episode, set to air on Wednesday, October 15, teased that a tribe swap is finally coming now that the “disaster” Kele tribe is down to just two remaining members – Alex Moore and Sophi Balerdi – fans think they’ve unearthed the identities of which contestants that will (and won’t) make it to the Merge, as well as which three Season 49 castaways will plead their case to the jury at the season’s Final Tribal Council.
Information regarding contestants’ rumored placements on the season comes from an Instagram post from one of “Survivor”s crew members. The post, which has since been deleted, shows the crew member standing on-location in Fiji in front of a large sign bearing the Season 49 logo. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that the sign was covered in signatures from 11 of the season’s 18 castaways, leading to speculation that the signatories represent the jury and Final 3.
Which Castaways are Rumored to Make the Merge/Jury?
According to the post, which has since been dissected by “Survivor” sleuths on Reddit, the players that make it to the Merge include: Alex Moore, Jawan Pitts, Kristina Mills, MC Chukwujekwu, Nate Moore, Rizo Velovic, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, Savannah Louie, Sophi Balerdi, Sophie Segreti and Steven Ramm.
So far, Nicole Mazullo, Annie Davis, Jake Latimer and Jeremiah Ing have been voted off the island, or, in Jake’s case, medically evacuated. If the Instagram post truly does reveal the season’s jury, it would explain why their signatures are absent from the logo.
Also missing from the logo’s list of signatories are Matt Williams, Jason Treul and Shannon Fairweather, suggesting that the trio of players will be voted out in upcoming pre-Merge episodes.
Meet the Rumored Final 3 of ‘Survivor’ Season 49
While the now-deleted post offers no information about boot-order for the post-Merge players, fans did note that three player’s signatures – Rizo, Savannah and Sophi B. – are surrounded by a large heart, leading fans to believe that they are the Final 3 of the season.
CBS/GettyPrevious rumors had already confirmed that Rizo and Savannah were invited back to compete on the upcoming “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” season next year. The duo’s high placements on Season 49 would certainly justify their addition to the milestone season. If anything, it’s Balerdi’s placement in the Final 3 that comes as a shock to fans, particularly after the track record of her starting Kele tribe.
Speculation that either Rizo or Savannah will win “Survivor 49” has been floating around the fandom for months. The rumor was only strengthened after Season 50 contestant Stephenie LaGrossa-Kendrick seemingly confirmed that the upcoming season featured three former winners. At present, the only past winners cast on the season are “Survivor 45” champion Dee Valladares and the current-reigning Kyle Fraser, who took home the title of “Sole Survivor” on Season 48 earlier this year.
Leaked tribe divisions from Season 50 place Rizo on the same starting tribe as Kyle, leading fans to assume that Savannah will eventually emerge as the “Sole Survivor” of Season 49.
Keep in mind that these are just rumors and speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, the rumors could gain some additional credibility if either Matt, Jason or Shannon gets the boot on Episode 4 next week.
