British musician Matty Healy of The 1975, was seen walking with and kissing model Gabbriette Bechtel in Los Angeles on February 22, 2026. Healy had a brief fling with Taylor Swift in 2023 and was also previously linked to her via 2014 rumors which he denied at the time. Swift seemed to refer to 36-year-old Matty as “my boyfriend” and sang about being “ghosted” by him in the song “Actually Romantic” from her 2025 album “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Bechtel, 28, is repped by Chris Lukas at CAA according to her Instagram page, which has over a million followers. She has modeled for Fendi, Nike, and Marc Jacobs, among other brands.
For the pair’s February 22 stroll in Los Angeles, Healy wore cowboy boots, light jeans, and a simple white t-shirt. Bechtel wore sheer black ballet flats, brown leather pants, and a black v-neck shirt.

Taylor Swift first sparked romance rumors with Healy in 2014 by appearing at one of The 1975’s shows in NYC. Cosmo quotes the musician as saying, “I met Taylor Swift, that was really nice. We exchanged numbers. Let’s see what happens.” He added, “She’s a sensation. I wouldn’t say no,” per the report.
In late November of that year, the “Karma” singer stepped out in a t-shirt from the band’s merch.
In 2016, Matty told the now-defunct Q Magazine he never dated Swift, and insisted, “She wasn’t a big impact on my life.” However, the pair was began spending time together around a month after Swift’s high-profile split from actor Joe Alwyn.
On May 5, 2023, Healy was seen attending Swift’s The Eras Tour stop in Nashville, Tennessee. However, the reunion was short-lived. On June 5, 2023, TMZ reported Swift was single, and other outlets including People confirmed.

Swift confirmed in her documentary “Taylor Swift: The End of an Era” about the conclusion of her Eras Tour, “I went through two breakups in the first half of this tour,” seeming to refer to Alwyn and Healy. She also said, “There were points in this tour when the tour was really the only thing that was really keeping me going in my life,” hinting at her heartbroken state.
When “The Tortured Poet’s Department” was released on April 19, 2024, Swift shared a message on Instagram that read in part, “Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.”
Accordingly, several of the lyrics seemed to reference the sadness of a breakup. In one track, the megastar sang, “For a moment, I knew cosmic love. Now I’m down bad, cryin’ at the gym. Everything comes out teenage petulance.” Another, which seems to allude to Healy’s controversial image that caused some of Swift’s fans to disapprove of their short-lived relatoinship contains the words, “They shook their heads saying, “God help her/When I told them he’s my man (I told them he’s my man)/But your good Lord didn’t need to lift a finger/I can fix him, no, really I can (no, really I can). Whoa, maybe I can’t.”
