Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse seemingly confirmed a key detail about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding.
TMZ caught up with Whitehouse on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., and asked whether the former “The Voice” mentor and the NFL champ are set to marry in Rhode Island.
“I don’t know about that,” Whitehouse replied. “I think that she gave Rhode Island a pass, but I hope so. I would love to have her in Rhode Island.”
Meanwhile, the local police chief reportedly confirmed that the town is not preparing for any kind of wedding, according to the Daily Mail.
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Wedding Venue Buzz Continues
Previously, Page Six reported that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce plan to tie the knot in the singer’s Rhode Island mansion.
The outlet noted that Swift purchased the property in 2013 for $17.5 million. The estate features eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and spans 5.23 acres, complete with gardens and a swimming pool.
Meanwhile, The US Sun claimed that the “Cruel Summer” singer and the NFL star are prepared to shell out $1.2 million on landscaping alone for the property in preparation for their big day.
“She wants the entire celebration to feel like a wave of flowers, with arrangements of white, purple, and pink orchids, plus blue, white, and pink hydrangeas, and peonies in pink, white, and red tones,” the source told the outlet.
In August 2025, Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee showed his support for Swift and Kelce, seemingly rooting for the couple to choose Rhode Island for their wedding.
“Rhode Island has some of the best wedding venues in the world, just saying,” McKee said on a repost of the couple’s wedding announcement.

“There’s a date — but no venue,” the insider told the outlet. “And that’s completely intentional.”

“Hundreds of guards” are also expected to be deployed in the wedding location, and a “strict no-fly zone” is likely to be enforced, the outlet added.
