People Magazine spoke to a source close to the royal household. They shared insider details King Charles’ hope for his sons’ future. According to the source, the monarch views Harry’s upcoming return to the UK as an invaluable opportunity for the brothers to finally begin healing their relationship.

“[Charles] will want to see his sons together over time,” the source explained. “This is the best opportunity we have seen in recent years.”

It was announced in mid-August that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, would return to the United Kingdom after six years of living in the United States. The couple has called Montecito, California their home since 2020.

In July 2026, Harry and Meghan visited Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, at their home in Highgrove. Charles saw his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for the first time in over four years.

Harry and his family will reside in a home just outside of London. There is a real opportunity for father and son to spend more time together. People’s source claimed, “The King would love to have Harry around.”

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially stepped back as senior working royals and relocated across the Atlantic in early 2020, public appearances featuring both brothers have become exceptionally rare. While the royal siblings put on a united front alongside their wives during a September 2022 Windsor walkabout to mourn Queen Elizabeth II, other shared moments have been largely nonexistent.

The last time they were photographed in public together was at King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey in May 2023. Harry sat two rows behind William and the two had no visible interaction. Additionally, the royal siblings attended the Norfolk memorial service for their late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in August 2024. However, they were seated separately and reportedly did not speak.

According to a source close to the palace who spoke with People Magazine, the monarch holds onto hope his sons can finally begin to repair their deep rift. King Charles’s focus appears to remain on his family’s healing. He is said to see this move as a potential turning point for his sons.
