Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle may live with their children, six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet, in sunny California; however, they occasionally like to get away to enjoy a very different kind of climate. That’s where Archie has learned a popular new skill that happens to be action-packed and involves some serious speed.
On top of that, it’s something that his late grandmother, Princess Diana, would have loved to see him do because she used to do it herself.
Archie Looks Like a Natural on Skis
Meghan took to Instagram on Thursday, April 2, to share a video of her husband and son on a snowy slope. With mountains in the distance and trees all around the family, it’s an idyllic scene. Of course, you might not notice that because it’s Archie who catches your attention.
Speeding down the hill while making some smooth moves, he follows his father as his mother trails behind and records the two in front of her. Meghan added a caption to her post, writing, “My boys. Quick learner, Archie! So proud ❤️”
Prince Harry Has Been Skiing Since He Was Around Archie’s Age
GettyThe royal family is famous for going on holidays that involve skiing. That includes Prince Harry, who was often spotted on the slopes with his parents and older brother when he was younger.
In fact, People explained that “for several years in the 1990s, Princess Diana brought her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to a quiet Alpine destination, where they could ski, explore and, as one longtime host recalls, simply be kids.”
“For two weeks each year during William and Harry’s Easter school holidays, Diana brought the boys to Lech, teaching them to ski and spending time together toward the end of the Alpine season, away from the relentless scrutiny of royal life,” People noted.

Indeed, “this isn’t the first time Meghan has taken her children on a skiing holiday,” according to Hello! “Back in March 2024, the former Suits star enjoyed a snowy getaway with close friends Heather Dorak and Kelly McKee Zajfen, alongside Archie and Lilibet. The group travelled to Powder Mountain Ski Resort, where they were pictured enjoying time on the slopes against a stunning mountain backdrop.”
As for Harry, in his 2023 memoir “Spare,” he wrote, “For several years I’d talked in all seriousness about working at the ski resort in Lech am Arlberg, where Mummy used to take us. Such wonderful memories.”
Now, Harry’s forming wonderful memories with his son the way his mother did with him.
