The couple did not attend the ceremony together last year.

In 2024, William arrived solo while Kate recovered from abdominal surgery. It was later revealed that her treatment was related to cancer.

At the time, William shared his disappointment that she could not join him. Their presence this year felt especially significant. In recent weeks, they are believed to have spent the school break with their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

William attended the ceremony in his capacity as President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, a role he has held since 2010, as per CNN.

During the evening, he is set to present the BAFTA Fellowship Award, the Academy’s highest honor, to Dame Donna Langley, Chair of NBCUniversal Entertainment, recognizing her outstanding contribution to film.

Last year, William commemorated the 20th anniversary of BAFTA’s Rising Star Award in a pre-recorded message celebrating emerging talent.

“Since 2006, this award has not only championed the industry’s rising stars but has helped to inspire the next generation of acting talent to pursue their dreams,” William said, as reported by People.

“The five incredibly talented people nominated tonight demonstrate a remarkable range of performances and have each captured the imagination of audiences over the last year. Judging by the international success of the previous nominees and winners of this award, I am certain we will be seeing much more of their work over the next 20 years and beyond.”

William’s attendance had not been officially confirmed beforehand, which only heightened anticipation.

In previous years, BAFTA often signaled whether guests could expect the heir to the throne. This time, organizers remained quiet. Still, the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived steady and composed. After months of personal challenges, their return to the BAFTAs felt both glamorous and quietly powerful.
