Six years before her death, Princess Diana buried a time capsule at the Great Ormand Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, and on Aug. 27, it was opened nearly 35 years later.
According to NBC News, a Kylie Minogue’s Rhythm of Love album from 1990, a solar-powered calculator, an early pocket TV, a passport, a copy of the Times newspaper from the date of the time capsule’s burial, and a photo of Diana were among the items found.
The items were determined based on a British children’s TV show where viewers had to decide the eight things that represented the 1990s.
The capsule was reportedly placed inside a wall at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1991 and was not set to be opened until centuries had passed, but “that timeline had to be drastically cut short because the hospital is demolishing existing buildings to build a new children’s cancer center,” NBC News adds.
The outlet further wrote that Princess Diana become the president of the Great Ormond Street Hospital, which is the U.K.’s leading children’s hospital, in 1989.
