Episode 2 of “The Traitors” season 4 proves just how fast the game can turn. With the first murder revealed and suspicion already spreading, a few poorly chosen words quickly shift the balance inside the castle.
The First Murder Shakes the Castle on ‘The Traitors’ Season 4
The episode opens with the reveal of who Lisa Rinna, Candiace Dillard Bassett, and Rob Rausch selected as their first victim from the Secret Traitor’s short list. After deducing that Rausch, Ian Terry, Eric Nam, and Mark Ballas could not be the Secret Traitor, the Traitors make their choice.
Rinna arrives first at breakfast, followed by contestants who held shields. When the remaining players finally enter, Dorinda Medley appears visibly relieved, remembering her early exit in season 3. Alan Cumming confirms that “Big Brother” winner Terry has been murdered, removing his photo from the breakfast room wall before teasing the next mission.
As the group begins talking strategy, Medley admits she hasn’t had time to form strong opinions yet, given how early the game still is.
Verbal Mistakes Put One Player in Danger in Episode 2 of Season 4
That calm quickly disappears when Porsha Williams slips and says, “When I killed him,” while discussing Terry. Ron Funches immediately notices. Williams then compounds the mistake later by referring to the Traitors as “we,” prompting Funches and Donna Kelce to quietly compare notes and form an unexpected alliance.
Kelce’s name continues circulating among the group, with several players arguing she would be an unlikely Traitor, while others admit they are hesitant to go after her.
The next mission challenges the contestants to haul massive thrones back to the castle within 45 minutes, with $24,000 at stake and no time updates from Cumming. Tiffany Mitchell, Caroline Stanbury, and Dillard Bassett initially sit on the thrones. Shield tokens found along the route allow players to swap positions, leaving only one petite contestant seated by the end. Colton Underwood and Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho earn shields.
The group completes the mission just in time, banking $22,500. Back at the castle, Michael Rapaport questions Arocho’s shield, immediately placing a target on his back.
The First Banishment of ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Was a Close One
Monét X Change continues to be suspicious of Kelce after she refuses to name names. Natalie Anderson opens the discussion by calling out Kelce, followed by Funches, who carefully outlines Williams’ repeated verbal slips. Rapaport then undercuts his own defense with a poorly worded comment.
When the votes are revealed, Williams is banished by just one vote. Despite the evidence against her, she confirms she is a Faithful.
Before the Traitors can regroup, Cumming introduces a major twist: the next murder must happen in plain sight using tarot cards hidden in the kitchen. The Secret Traitor’s short list includes Monét X Change, Tara Lipinski, Kristen Kish, and Rob Cesternino.
If the plan succeeds, the Traitors will finally meet the Secret Traitor — raising the stakes heading into Episode 3 of season 4.
As Dillard Bassett forms a conga line as a distraction, Rinna and Rausch seemingly complete the murder.
But who was it? On to episode 3…
Episodes 1-3 of “The Traitors” season 4 are available to stream on Peacock.
