TLC alum Amy Duggar King has issued a statement following the arrest of her cousin, Joseph Duggar.
“My first thoughts are with the victim, a child who deserved to be safe, protected and surrounded by people she could trust,” Amy said in a statement to PEOPLE on Friday, March 20. “The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after years of carrying something so heavy, cannot be overstated. That bravery deserves to be honored above all else.”
She added that she is “praying for the victim and her family as they walk through what is sure to be an incredibly difficult road ahead,” as well as her cousin’s wife Kendra and their children.
“I am also praying for Joseph’s wife, Kendra, as she begins to process this, and for the protection of their children,” she continued. “I’m praying for eyes to be opened and above all, I pray that justice will be served to the fullest.”
Joseph was arrested on Wednesday, March 18 and charged with two counts of child sex abuse.

In her statement, Amy also highlighted the “importance of truth, accountability, and protecting children, even when it meant going against my own family.”
“I have used my voice to expose the darkness and advocate for the protection of children, a journey I wrote about in Holy Disruptor: Shattering the Shiny Facade by Getting Louder with the Truth as a way to help others recognize harmful patterns, speak the truth and find their voice in toxic systems,” she said.

In October 2025, Amy released a memoir titled Holy Disruptor: Shattering the Shiny Facade While Getting Louder with the Truth.
In the official description of the book, she reveals that the memoir dives deep into her experience while on TLC’s reality show “19 Kids and Counting.”
“In Holy Disruptor, Amy gives her unfiltered testimony to finally break free from the toxic cycles that swirled around her and to confront the trauma she endured off-camera,” the description says, with the purpose of the book to influence others to “use your voice and get loud with the truth.”
