Joseph Duggar is Two Years Older Than Joy-Anna Duggar
Of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s 19 children, Joseph Duggar, 31, comes in two years ahead of Joy-Anna in age. She is the only girl born after Joseph and Josiah, and is followed by twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, and Jackson, until her younger sister Johanna was born in 2005.
Along with Joy-Anna, other Duggar siblings have made their feelings known about Joseph Duggar’s legal issues since news broke about the former reality star on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The family members who have spoken out thus far include Jill Duggar Dillard, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jessa Duggar Seewald, and Jason Duggar. All have thanked fans for their concern during this trying time within their family.
The complete lineup of 19 children in the Duggar family includes: Josh, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie. All of the children have names that begin with the letter “J.”
The tradition stemmed from the children’s mom, Michelle, not wanting any siblings to be left out after her first children were given names beginning with the letter. She explained, “There’s no quick answer, but it started with our first child. Emotionally, we loved the Bible name, Joshua. So we named our first child Josh after him.”
“We loved the Bible name of John,” Michelle shared in a 2010 blog post. “My grandmother’s name was Ana, and we put the J on the front.” The tradition continued with their next child, daughter Jill, and so on.
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and Austin Forsyth are currently spending time with family. They are parents to Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner.
