In celebration of the “When Calls the Heart” cast being back together for season 13, Erin Krakow shared an adorable Instagram photo of herself alongside Brooke Shields and Kevin McGarry.
The photo featured Krakow smiling wide as Shields and McGarry shared a loving embrace by holding each other’s hands.
“Welcome back @brookeshields! We missed you…and Charlotte’s obsession with lard,” the Hallmark star captioned her photo.
WCTH Fans Excited for the Return of Brooke Shields
Hearties were ecstatic to see the WCTH cast reunited, taking to the comments to express their excitement about Shields’ character, Charlotte Thornton, being back on their screens.
“So fun to have Charlotte back. Her scenes with Nathan were pure gold 😍❤️,” wrote one.

Charlotte made her long-awaited return to the WCTH narrative during the season 12 finale by writing a letter to Krakow’s character, Elizabeth Thornton. In the letter, Charlotte expressed her concern over Little Jack’s diabetes, urging her to move him closer to a new insulin lab in Cape Fullerton.
Despite Charlotte’s exit in season 3, the slightest mention of her character’s return was enough to get fans on the edge of their seats.
Fortunately, the season 13 premiere showed Charlotte meeting McGarry’s character, Nathan Grant, for the first time — marking a pivotal and necessary moment for her anticipated return to the show.
Erin Krakow Gets Candid About Brooke Shields’ Return to WCTH
With Charlotte, Elizabeth and Nathan getting along, fans are hopeful for a season full of noteworthy moments from the beloved Shields — and so is Krakow!
In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Krakow opened up about the reprise of Shields’ role, saying even she was optimistic that the actress would eventually make her return to the Sunday night series.
“When we mentioned her at the end of season 12, we were hopeful,” Krakow told the outlet. “But you never know… We just got lucky that Brooke’s schedule allowed for her to come back and join us in season 13.”
Krakow also revealed how she and Shields kept in contact with each other after Charlotte’s departure earlier on in the series. “Brooke and I have stayed in touch over the years, and we have a lovely friendship,” she said. “I always hoped that one day the stars would align and we’d be able to get her back, because there really is so much to mine from her character.”
