Sandra Bullock will forever treasure the time she spent with the late actress Betty White.
During an appearance on the Sept. 3 episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, Bullock talked about some of her favorite fashion moments from her films over the years, which led her to reflect on filming the iconic 2009 movie The Proposal.
The first she named was the wedding dress she wore in The Proposal.
“Well, it’s Betty’s hands on my boobs,” Bullock joked to Kelce.”
Bullock stars in the hit movie alongside Ryan Reynolds, playing Margaret Tate, an editor-in-chief of a New York City book publisher who convinces her assistant to marry her so she can avoid being deported to Canada. As a result, Reynolds’ character brings her home to meet his family, which includes White, who plays the grandmother.
The scene Bullock references is when White’s character gives Margaret Tate her old wedding dress, but they are some clear fit issues as she jokes that, “It’s like an Easter egg hunt.”
“It still is,” Bullock said to Kelce. “Some things never change, but only Betty gets to search.”
The two grew very close after working on the movie, and it was actually Bullock who presented the actress with the Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award in 2010. The “Miss Congeniality” star also paid tribute to White following her passing, remembering her as a “loving, decent, optimistic, inclusive, hilarious human being.”
“I don’t drink vodka … but I will tonight, on ice, with a slice of lemon with a hot dog on the other side and just be OK being sad,” she told PEOPLE.
Sandra Bullock Says Betty White Was ‘Everything’
White passed away on Dec. 31, 2021, which was just days before her 100th birthday.
And when reflecting on her legacy, Bullock said the legendary actress was “everything.”
“Betty White is everything,” Bullock confirmed. “I say ‘is everything’ cause I know she’s still floating around.”
She added that White “was the epitome of a human who lived her best life, found the best love, made lemonade out of absolutely everything, had timing that was unbelievable.”
You just don’t even bother to say anything funny. Don’t try. Just let it be Betty because she just could own a room. She was incredible,” Bullock added.
Sandra Bullock Recalls Funny Moment With Betty White
Getty“We had a day where we were on this little boat. It was Ryan, Betty, I think just me. I don’t think anyone else is on it. And it was freezing,” Bullock said during the podcast appearance. “And they’re like, ‘Sandra, do you want a jacket?’ I’m like, ‘Yes.’ I’m in these heels, and I’m freezing, and I have this big down coat, and Ryan’s got a down coat.”
After checking with her, production then asked White if she needed anything
“She goes, ‘No, I’m fine.’ I’m like, (expletive),” Bullock remembered.
