“Scooby-Doo” star Sarah Michelle Gellar is reflecting on 24 years of marriage with her co-star, Freddie Prinze Jr.
The pair met back in 1997 while filming “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and officially began their relationship in 2000. They got engaged a year later in married on September 1, 2002. The happy couple went on to welcome their daughter in 2009 and their son in 2012.

“@realfreddieprinze can you imagine telling these kids where they would be 24 years later (well tech 26… but 24 married) #happyanniversary” the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star penned a sweet Instagram post. She attached several photos from their beautiful life together.
Fans went wild for the sweet throwback photos. Many expressed excitement over their love story and wished them many more blissful anniversaries to come.

Though she was one of the biggest stars of the ’90s and early 2000s, Sarah Michelle Gellar’s priorities shifted after becoming a mother. In 2014, she decided to take a step back from Hollywood amid many major life changes.
“I had my second child. I was on ‘The Crazy Ones.’ Robin [Williams] passed away,” the actress told PEOPLE this March about her decision to temporarily leave the entertainment industry.
“And then I just . . . I think my world shifted,” Gellar continued. “It was this moment of, ‘Holy s—, things change in a moment.’ For the first time I wanted a break, and I had never wanted a break before. I was so defined by my work and my career that that was the propeller. And I’m so glad that I did, because it’s time I can never get back with my kids.”
Their daughter, Charlotte Grace, turns 17 this fall while their son, Rocky James turns 14.
Freddie Prinze Jr. helped Sarah Michelle Gellar understand that she needed to focus on her own life and well-being. After starting therapy, Gellar proudly shared that she’s feeling better than ever before.
“I’m happier than I’ve ever been and I’ve got nothing left to prove,” she told the outlet.
This year, the actress is dipping her toes back into acting and entertaining as she and balances family life.
