Wayne Brady’s Blended Family Celebrates His 54th Birthday
Wayne Brady and Mandie Taketa admit their marriage simply didn’t work out, but they still wish all the best for each other. Mandie couldn’t let her ex-husband’s birthday pass without giving him a special birthday tribute, complete with their wedding photos.
“Happy Birthday to the sweetest, kindest, most generous, most gentle human I know. Words will never express how thankful I am for asking me to go on a walk with you 31 years ago,” Mandie Taketa shared on Instagram.
The third photo features their daughter, 23-year-old Maile Masako Brady, and Mandie’s current partner, Jason Fordham. At the end, Mandie included a video of the family serenading Wayne Brady at a restaurant. The comedian blows out a candle and receives a sweet hug from his daughter.
“You made my day. I love you!” Wayne Brady replied. Other fans flooded the comments section with well-wishes for the actor.
Overall, fans felt delighted to see that the exes still share a special bond after all these years.
The Actor Always Strives For a Successful Co-Parenting Relationship
GettyShortly after finishing in third place on “Dancing With the Stars,” Wayne Brady and his blended family went on to star in their own reality show.
“Wayne Brady: The Family Remix” only lasted eight episodes and one season on Freeform, but fans genuinely enjoyed seeing Wayne Brady have a successful co-parenting relationship with Mandie Taketa. She and her partner, Jason Fordham, have a son of their own, and Wayne Brady plays an active role in his upbringing.
Shortly after the reality show premiered in 2024, the comedian revealed he also privately welcomed another child.
“My family is everything to me but there are some things I’ve never told anybody outside of this immediate family. Like, I happen to have a 6-month-old son that people don’t know about,” Brady revealed on the show, as reported by Us Weekly. He shares his son, Val Henry, with an ex-girlfriend.
“Tina and I dated during the pandemic on and off and then we broke up. Wayne Brady has a kid and he has two baby mamas,” the actor joked.
Wayne Brady admitted he wasn’t prepared to welcome another child at 51. On top of that, he struggled to build a successful co-parenting relationship with Tina. The circumstances were very different from his relationship with Mandie Taketa.
The comedian doesn’t often share photos of his son Val on social media, but he did post a few last summer.
“Now I start all over again with Mr Val Henry! What a blessing!” Brady wrote in an Instagram post about fatherhood.
Fans look forward to seeing Wayne Brady continue building a fulfilling, loving life with his blended family.
