The Top 12 on “American Idol” season 24 performed last night on ABC. It was “‘90s Judges’ Song Contest” night, which meant the “American Idol” judges — Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan — were picking songs for these singers to perform. While we saw some amazing performances throughout the night, it all ended with another singer going home, leaving us with the Top 11 on “American Idol” season 24. We are taking a look at these hopefuls and doing some power rankings for the top 11 singers on “American Idol” season 24.
1. Brooks Rosser
If Brooks can work past his nerves (which showed more last night than he has been), then he can win it all. I still like how he is unique, and he earns the top spot from me.
2. Hannah Harper
Hannah kicked the night off. While she seems to be an early favorite to win it all, I just don’t get it. She has a great country voice, but her stage presence isn’t there. Maybe it’s nerves for her, too, that she’ll work through.
3. Keyla Richardson
Talk about an amazing song choice for Keyla. “Zombie” by The Cranberries started slowly for Keyla, but I loved how she was slow with the lyrics and almost like talking them and not singing. Then she breaks out into the HUGE notes towards the end. The build was slow, but so worth it.
4. Philmon Lee on ‘American Idol’ Season 24
The nerves seemed to have left Philmon last night. This performance was fun and upbeat. He held his own, too, with lyrics that got very fast in certain parts.
5. Braden Rumfelt
The judges didn’t seem as impressed with Braden. However, I thought this was a great performance. He took on Celine Dion, which is a big feat. I think he has a great sound, and he’s good-looking, which will draw in some votes.
6. Jordan McCullough on ‘American Idol’
Jordan was shocked to see that one of the judges’ song choices was a Mariah Carey song. The judges knew what they were thinking, as he knocked it out of the park with this one.
7. Daniel Stallworth on ‘American Idol’ 2026
Another week, another chance for Daniel to move up higher on my list. He took on a Lenny Kravitz song. Daniel started behind the piano, but then the song kicked in, and he got up. He’s getting better and better each week.
8. Chris Tungseth
I do like Chris, but something seemed off with this performance. He sounded different, like more nasally. I just wasn’t a huge fan of this song choice for him.
9. Kyndal Inskeep
The song started, and I couldn’t even hear what she was singing. Her original song performance about her mother was so good. Since then, she has been falling down the rankings for me.
10. Rae Boyd
Believe me, I thought Rae had one of the best performances of the night. I think her voice is so good and so powerful. She took on Taylor Dayne with ease. However, she ended up in the bottom two for the night, so I had to move her down the list because of that.
11. Lucas Leon
In the package video, Lucas talked about possibly choosing a different song and having fun during his performance. He didn’t go that right, and I think he should have. He needs to mix it up to appeal to voters.
Who do you think are the best singers for the Top 11 on “American Idol” season 24?
