In November 2025, “American Idol” winner and new dad Scotty McCreery got fans into the holiday spirit with a beautiful rendition of a classic tune. In an Instagram post, the singer belted out “White Christmas” and reminded followers of just how close the holiday really was. “Only a few more weeks and [y’all] ๐๐๐who’s ready?” he captioned the post.
Fans responded with compliments on his beautiful rendition of the song and dropped heart emojis in the comments section. The video came as McCreery was in the throes of touring. Earlier in the fall, he took a break from performing to welcome the newest addition to his family: his second son, Oliver. Clearly, McCreery had plenty to celebrate for the 2025 Christmas season.
The Singer Released a Full-length Version of the Song
GettyOf course, the Instagram teaser was just a small sample of McCreery’s rendition of “White Christmas.” In a YouTube video, the singer performs the full-length version in a studio, complete with wintry special effects. In addition to appearing on YouTube, fans can check out McCreery’s officially released cover of the song on streaming platforms, including Spotify and SoundCloud.
Although McCreery posted the teaser clip in late November, the song actually hit the airwaves in late October, ushering in his return to touring. In his original announcement of the song’s release on X, McCreery even included some fun throwback photos of himself from Christmases past. Fans can chuckle at several fun images in the post, such as a tiny McCreery wearing an adorable red cowboy hat. Another shows a young guitar player in the making, with the singer holding an acoustic on his lap — a common sight throughout his career so far.
McCreery Put Out a Christmas Album Early in His Career
GettyAlthough he may not be the first singer fans think of when wanting to listen to Christmas tunes, McCreery is no stranger to holiday music. In 2012, he released “Christmas With Scotty McCreery,” a full album of seasonal songs. In addition to ten classics, the singer recorded two brand-new originals for the album. He even released a music video for “Christmas Comin’ Round Again” in support of the album.
The Christmas record came a little over a year after McCreery’s May 2011 “American Idol” win, and he was still a teen at the time. He hasn’t released a full album of holiday music since, but his new “White Christmas” cover is a sign that he still enjoys performing songs from this time-honored genre.
