Underwood wore a long, fitted burgundy dress for the occasion. Her hair was styled loose and straight, and she completed her outfit with matching burgundy heels and statement jewelry. The result was stylish yet elegant, and the “Before He Cheats” singer shared photos from the night on her Instagram.
In one picture, Underwood took a selfie in her judge’s chair. In the caption, she asked fans to weigh in on the performances. “Are you loving the California songs tonight? Dressed to match the wine list,” she wrote. Fans flooded the comment section with praise for the musician.

Carrie Underwood Shares Love of Working on ‘American Idol’
Underwood found her start on “American Idol” when she won Season 4. She was 21. It has been a full-circle moment for her to become one of the judges, and she has the unique advantage of understanding the emotions contestants experience, having been in that position herself. It is also a role she enjoys, and she has previously described her time on “American Idol” as the “best job.”
In a post on Facebook on March 24, Underwood wrote, “No lie detected. This is the best job in the world! #americanidol.”
Underwood is popular as a judge, both with fans of the show and her fellow judges, as well as longtime host Ryan Seacrest. In a March 2026 interview with Billboard, Seacrest praised Underwood and her many beautiful qualities. “I see Carrie out in the wild in the world,” he said. “She’s beloved, she’s kind, she’s super-talented.
