‘American Idol’ Winner Hannah Harper Has Fans Excited With New Music Tease

“American Idol” season 24 winner Hannah Harper may be busy touring, but she still found time to work on new music and just gave fans a glimpse of what’s coming next.

Taking to Instagram, Harper recently teased her latest project: a Western-themed music video for her new song, “Hold Your Horses.” Set to be released on September 4, it is the latest track to be released from the “American Idol” winner, following the music video for “Married Into This Town,” the original song she performed during the show’s finale.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the new song and music video, which will also feature Harper’s husband, who has already been a regular in her music videos.

Despite her jam-packed touring schedule, Hannah Harper has still found time to work on new music and give fans an exciting new music video to accompany her latest track.

On Tuesday, August 25, Harper teased a snippet of the music video for her song, “Hold Your Horses.” In the clip, Harper’s husband Devon Mendenhall is seen walking into a cabin dressed in Western attire, cowboy hat and all. Spotting Harper seated in the kitchen, dressed head-to-toe in denim, he takes her hand and spins her around.

The clip then cuts to black and reads “Holds Your Horses” and “9.04,” the date of the song and its music video release. “Saddle up, y’all… ‘Hold Your Horses’ is coming real soon,” she captioned the post.

This isn’t the first time Harper has had her husband in one of her music videos. He also appeared in her video for “Married Into This Town,” released in July. However, the song wasn’t new to “American Idol” viewers, who watched Harper sing the original song during the season 24 finale in May.

In early August, the songstress shared behind-the-scenes photos of filming the “Hold Your Horses” music video, with Harper wearing a beautiful patchwork dress, something she’s been known for wearing since her Idol audition.

Harper’s Busy Touring Schedule Includes Singing Alongside Brad Paisley

Harper has been touring with her band since early June, with her “String Cheese Tour,” named after her now-viral song, running through November. However, instead of performing in big-name stadiums, Harper announced that she was hitting more intimate venues and smaller towns across the U.S.

Speaking to American Songwriter after her incredible Grand Ole Opry debut in June, she shared, “The biggest thing that I’m looking forward to is getting to connect one-on-one with the people who voted for me the entire Idol journey. I didn’t win with my own ability. It was the people, and the fans, and the friends and family—I don’t want to call them fans, those are my people—who made it happen each week and made me feel loved supported.”

She continued, “I was very thankful. Getting to see them in a more intimate setting is what I long for.”

Harper is also the opening act for country singer Brad Paisley on a few dates of his “Live Tour” in late August and September. Additionally, she’ll join “American Idol” alum and country singer Lauren Alaina’s “Stages Tour” for select cities beginning in October.

Harper has mentioned that her entire family has been on tour with her, including her husband and their three children. However, when she does get some downtime, she makes sure to give her kids her full attention.

In an Instagram post, Harper is seen cuddling one of her sons with a caption that read, “17 missed calls, 130 unread remails, 50 messages, me:”
