Former “American Idol” judge Katy Perry is well-known for showing her fans love, and the moments are often heartwarming. In an Instagram Reel she shared to her Stories on August 27, 2025, the singer gave fans a glimpse at an adorable meet & greet between Perry and “Love on the Spectrum Star” Madison Marilla.
“It was a dream come true meeting Katy Perry!” Marilla wrote in her original post. “Her music helped me when kids misunderstood me, and one of my very first dance solos was to ‘California Gurls.'” Marilla looked totally starstruck in the video, and Perry was very sweet and welcoming. “Oh my God, I can’t believe this,” Marilla said. “I can,” Perry said, giving her fan a warm hug.
The Pair Showered Each Other With Compliments
GettyOne of the sweetest things about these two famous faces coming together is how they showered each other with praise. “You’re so cool,” Perry said to Marilla. “Look at that eyeshadow, why don’t you put that on me?” She then complimented the “Love on the Spectrum” star’s makeup skills, telling her that she should pursue being a makeup artist.
For her part, Marilla tearfully told Perry about what an inspiration she has been, which led the singer to give her another hug. Marilla even showed off her dance skills, both while meeting Perry and at the end of the video. “So great to meet you and Daisy loved her bracelet!” Perry wrote in the original Reel’s comments section, referencing a sweet gift Marilla gave the singer for her daughter, Daisy. The post garnered over 80,000 likes, with plenty of fans supporting the cute moment in the comments.
Perry is Hard at Work on a U.S. Leg of Her Tour
GettyPerry has plenty more potential fan meetings ahead of her in 2025. In August, the singer was hard at work on a U.S. leg of her “The Lifetimes Tour.” As her official website states, Perry will only be stateside for a short time before embarking on a trek across South America and Europe.
Although she has faced some uncomfortable upheaval in her personal life, including the end of her relationship with long-time partner Orlando Bloom, the singer is still clearly focused on delivering great performances. Perry has treated fans to plenty of footage from her tour, much of which has been exciting and theatrical. Her breathtaking stunts and colorful costumes remind Marilla — and all of her fans — exactly why they love the “Firework” singer so much.
