Kelly Clarkson Shares Rare Photo of Her Kids Months After They Lost Their Dad

Kelly Clarkson is a loving mom, and fans were thrilled to see a rare photo of her children, which she shared on Sunday, November 30.

Kelly Clarkson Shares Wholesome Family Photo

The former “American Idol” star posted the photo on Instagram of herself and her two children, River Rose and Remington “Remy” Alexander, whom she shares with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Blackstock died of cancer in August, and there have been very few updates about his children since, so fans have been thrilled to see them looking so well.

River and Remy are dressed in their winter clothes and smiling into the camera. River Rose wears a pink beanie and a purple jacket, while her little brother poses in a bright yellow beanie and a blue jacket. In the caption, Clarkson shared her thoughts, writing, “Ice skating at 30 Rock with the family.”

The post is only three hours old, but has already been flooded with comments from users. “Aww so fun, festive, and adorable Kells and family!! Merry Christmas to ya’ll!!” a fan wrote. “Wouldn’t that be cool to be there and Kelly Clarkson goes skating by!!! I’d be fanning!!!!” another fan shared.

A third comment reads, “Beautiful family pic!” Other reactions include, “so freaking cute!,” “So cute and adorable and be safe and careful ice staking kelly,” and “your daughter is your mini me!”

Kelly Clarkson’s Busy Schedule

This rare personal update has been met with great excitement from fans. It is the first time since Blackstock’s passing that Clarkson has posted a photo of her children.

Her last Instagram post was two weeks ago, celebrating her concert in Las Vegas. The singer posted a photo of herself onstage, singing to what appears to be a packed stadium. “The lights last night, so magical! #StudioSessions #KellyInVegas,” she captioned the post. Clarkson has been enjoying her residency in Vegas. She will have a break now over the holidays, resuming with a new residency in summer 2026, Parade reports. Her next show will begin on July 17.

Reba McEntire has previously commented on Blackstock’s death in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in September. In the interview, she spoke about how his four children, River, Remy, and their two older half-siblings, Savannah and Seth, are doing. “The kids are doing well, they’re all bonding together and hanging out with each other, and taking it one day at a time,” McEntire said. “We know God’s got this.”
