Nicole Kidman is baring her heart out on a deeply personal turning point in her life. Months after finalizing her divorce from country music star & former “American Idol” judge Keith Urban following 19 years of marriage, the Oscar-winning actress has spoken publicly about the split for the first time.
In an interview with Variety published March 11, Kidman shared that she is now focusing on moving forward and finding strength in what comes next.

Through it all, Kidman made it clear that her focus remains on the people who matter most to her.
The actress said protecting a sense of stability for her daughters is her top priority. She shares two children with Urban: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Even after the separation, she emphasized that their family bond remains strong.
“I’m staying in a place of ‘We are a family,'” she explained. “And that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Kidman is also a mother to Isabella Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Divorce Finalized After Nearly Two Decades of Marriage
GettyPeople reported that Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September, shortly after reports surfaced that the couple had been living separately since the beginning of the summer.
Their split was finalized in January after the two reached an agreement regarding custody of their daughters.
According to court documents obtained by People at the time, Kidman will spend 306 days each year with the girls, while Urban will have parenting time every other weekend.
GettyBoth stars also chose to handle the divorce amicably and without a drawn-out legal battle.
“Each party indicates that he or she does not want to proceed with formal discovery,” the documents stated, “including completing interrogatories and requests for production of documents, or discovery depositions, that are designed to discover assets and debts.”
By opting for a cooperative approach, the former couple was able to finalize the divorce without prolonged court proceedings.
Kidman Once Reflected on the Realities of Long-Term Love
GettyKidman has rarely discussed her private relationships in detail. However, she once reflected on the realities of long-term love during a 2019 interview with People.
“Real love happens not when everything is going well but when things are going badly,” she said. “It’s when human beings come together, if they’re going to, in a far deeper way. You’re then having to work together, and the ‘together’ is what it’s about.”
For now, Kidman appears focused on moving forward.
Her priority remains her daughters, her career, and the next chapter of life after a marriage that lasted nearly two decades.
