‘Stranger Things’ Star Maya Hawke Sells Manhattan Apartment for $1.6 Million Following Wedding: SEE INSIDE!

Following Maya Hawke’s surprise Valentine’s Day wedding in New York City that saw the “Stranger Things” star tie the knot with singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson, the newlywed actress has sold her Manhattan apartment for $1.6 million.

Hawke “bought the Greenwich Village co-op in September 2021 for $1.35 million, records show,” according to Mansion Global. “The apartment hit the market in November for the same price it sold for and found a buyer about a month later. The deal closed on Monday [March 2].”

Maya Hawke’s Former Apartment Is a ‘Charming’ NYC Abode

The lucky buyer who purchased Hawke’s New York City apartment will surely appreciate the stylish home that has plenty to offer its residents.

“Located on the sixth floor of a prewar building on East Ninth Street, the charming apartment spans about 1,000 square feet with one bedroom and one bathroom,” per Mansion Global. After entering the home and walking into the foyer, “steps lead down into the sunken living room, which has 11-foot ceilings, three tall arched windows and a marble wood-burning fireplace.”

“Arched built-in bookshelves match the windows, and there’s even space for a small dining table,” Mansion Global adds.

The upgraded kitchen boasts “black granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances including a Subzero fridge,” according to the listing. There’s also a “[l]arge breakfast nook area next to the 12ft long entry foyer.”

Beyond that, the listing points out that “[a] long hallway leads you to the bedroom that has corner windows providing north east light with a lovely window seat,” and the “European style bathroom is sizable with a Jacuzzi soaking tub/shower.”

The Building Boasts ‘Old World Elegance, Historic Charm’ & ‘Distinctive Character’

Not only is the apartment impressive, but the building it’s in is also an enviable place to call home.

“The unit is in an old-school full-service doorman building with a nice rooftop garden. All in all, the place is nice but surprisingly normal,” according to Curbed. “Like an apartment that would play a more attractive version of an actual apartment on a Netflix show.”

Indeed, the new owners of Hawke’s now-former abode will get to enjoy the “[o]ld World elegance, historic charm and one-of-a-kind distinctive character that can only be found at 45 East 9th Street,” per the listing.

“45 East 9th Street is a landmarked 24-hour doorman building featuring a live-in resident manager, a vast landscaped rooftop garden with panoramic city views, and a laundry room,” the listing notes. “The building is historically registered as the longtime residence of famed playwright Terrance McNally-this stretch of East 9th Street is named ‘Terrance McNally Way.’ The building is pet-friendly, allows pied-à-terre ownership and parents purchasing for their children.”
