Reba McEntire Ready to Embrace a New Joyful Title After Son’s Sweet Announcement

A joyful new chapter is unfolding for beloved Reba McEntire as she prepares to embrace one of life’s most meaningful roles. The legendary country star and former “The Voice” coach is set to become a grandmother, with her son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa Blackstock, expecting their first child together, bringing a wave of excitement to the family.

‘Our Little Man Is Coming’: Couple Shares Joyful Announcement

The couple revealed the news in a heartfelt social media post, sharing their excitement with friends and followers. “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October,” they wrote.

“See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!”

The announcement marked a joyful milestone for the couple, who have been open about their hopes of starting a family.

Alongside a series of sweet photos from Disney World, the couple shared that they are expecting a baby boy, due in October.

The location holds special meaning for them, as they were married there in 2022, in a ceremony held in front of the iconic castle.

A Journey Marked by Loss & Resilience

Their announcement comes after a deeply personal and emotional journey.

In December, Marissa shared that the couple had experienced a pregnancy loss soon after learning they were expecting for the first time.

“Our little boy… he arrived the day after my dad passed,” she wrote, reflecting on the moment she discovered she was pregnant after years of trying.

The happiness of that news was followed by heartbreak when the pregnancy ended, during a time when she was also grieving the loss of close family members.

Through it all, she continued to hold on to hope.

“He showed me that my body can do this. That hope isn’t gone.”

Holding On to Hope & Moving Forward

Shelby and Marissa, who married in 2022, moved forward with quiet strength, continuing to explore every path toward growing their family.

At the time, Marissa made it clear she was not ready to let go of that dream. “I’m not ready to set this dream down,” she wrote. “Not now, not ever.”

Now, that hope is turning into something real. Their latest announcement marks a fresh beginning, filled with anticipation as they prepare to welcome their baby boy.

Shelby, 34, is McEntire’s only biological child from her marriage to Narvel Blackstock. Over the years, the country star has often said she considers Narvel’s children her own as well, including Brandon, who passed away from cancer in August 2025.

For McEntire, it also opens the door to a deeply meaningful new role as she prepares to embrace life as a grandmother while her family enters this joyful new chapter.
