Country Star Welcomes Baby No. 5 With His Wife

Country star Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are celebrating a joyful new chapter after welcoming their fifth child together, a son named Brave Elijah Akins.

The couple confirmed the news in a joint Instagram post on Friday, February 27, sharing sweet photos and details from the baby’s arrival.

The Adorable Announcement

“Welcome to the world Brave,” they wrote, adding that their hearts were “in a big ole puddle with this precious baby BOY.”

They revealed Brave Elijah was born early — almost two weeks ahead of schedule — weighing close to 10 pounds.

“Thank you Jesus this big boy didn’t wait another two weeks to be born,” they joked.

The carousel of photos captured tender family moments, including Rhett comforting Lauren during labor and kissing her forehead while she held their newborn.

Lauren also praised her husband’s role in the delivery room, writing that he was her “biggest champion” and even helped deliver their son before tearfully announcing, “It’s a BOY.”

The Couple Already Have 4 Daughters

The couple are already parents to four daughters — Willa Gray, Ada James, Lennon Love, and Lillie Carolina — who they said are completely smitten with their new baby brother.

Rhett, 35, and Lauren, 36, first shared their pregnancy news back in August with a lighthearted video featuring Rhett singing about how “life changes,” referencing their growing family of “five under 10.”

Despite juggling five young kids, Rhett and Akins have shared that they intentionally don’t rely on a nanny or regular babysitter.

Speaking on “That Sounds Fun Podcast,” the couple explained they don’t have a nanny, assistant, or consistent childcare help.

Instead, they lean on teamwork, flexible schedules, and family support as they raise their children together.

Rhett joked during the podcast that he would play a gig for little money to get a brief break from the hectic family life.

“Like, can we just book some dates in March? I don’t care where they are. We’ll go. I will come sing at your kids’ birthday at this point — as long as it’s a three-day birthday,” he said.

Now, with baby Brave joining the household, the Akins family is embracing their newest addition with gratitude.

The couple wrote they feel “so grateful God chose us to have YOU,” adding that they’re “completely over the moon in love.”

For Rhett and Lauren, the arrival of Brave Elijah marks another milestone in their growing family — proof that, as Rhett sang months ago, life keeps changing in the sweetest ways.
