Brie and Nikki Bella are major names in the wrestling universe. But to their children, they’re just family.
In a new interview, the iconic sister duo opened up about family life. As their children grow up, they’re discovering more about their mothers’ careers. However, it was just recently that the kids fully grasped that their mothers are world-renowned wrestlers.
Brie & Nikki Bella’s Sons Found a New Appreciation For the Duo
Brie Bella and her husband Daniel Bryan are the parents of daughter Birdie, 8, and son, Buddy, 5. Nikki Bella welcomed her son Matteo, 5, with her ex-husband, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev.
The twins recently appeared on “The Pete Davidson Show” to talk about life and careers. Now that the children are getting older, they’re understanding more about their mothers’ pasts.
“I remember the first time picking Matteo up and we got in the car and he goes, ‘Are you Nikki Bella?’ And I was like, ‘Who told you that?’ Because I never told him about that side of me.”
Now that Matteo knows the truth, he’s excited to share it with everyone.
“At times we’ll be talking to people and then he’ll just interrupt and go, ‘Do you know she’s Nikki Bella?'” the WWE superstar shared, before gesturing to her sister. “But now he just found out on this trip that she’s Brie Bella.”
“I’m Auntie Breezy. And I think for so long, even when Nikki went back, to them I’m just a mom. But my son, he’s obsessed with wrestling,” Brie added, noting that her little boy always watched his father, Daniel Bryan, wrestle on television. Brie’s son’s jaw dropped when he realized she was also an important part of WWE.
“I don’t let them watch YouTube so I never have shown them my footage. But when he saw me at the Rumble, and my last two matches, and now when I come home I’ll be on the couch and he’ll be like ‘Missile drop kick!'” Brie continued, noting that Buddy thinks she’s incredibly cool now.
The Bella Twins Explore Other Ventures Outside of Wrestling
Although they’re still best known for their fruitful wrestling careers, the Bella twins have other business endeavors to occupy their time.
When they’re not busy in the gym or raising children, the sisters have entrepreneurial pursuits, including their wine brand, Bonita Bonita.
