“Boy Meets World” alum Danielle Fishel is loving her experience so far on season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars.” In an interview she had with Extra after her week 2 performance, Fishel opened up about her focus on joy and fun after navigating a cancer diagnosis.
Danielle Fishel Feels She Wouldn’t Have Appreciated Doing DWTS As Much Before Now
Fishel admitted that this was the perfect time for her to finally do “Dancing with the Stars.”
She had been asked numerous times in the past, and until now, she had always said no. Fishel told Extra, “I think had I said yes to doing ‘Dancing with the Stars’ any of the times they had previously asked me, I wouldn’t have appreciated it as much as I appreciate it now at this stage of my life.”
Fishel explained, “Being in my mid-40s, having overcome cancer last year, a mom of two, and just realizing that life is short and we should find as much joy as possible everywhere we can.”
“From beginning to end, this process has been joyful,” Fishel revealed. She added, “I don’t want it to end. So I hope we still have many, many, many more weeks.”

As joyful as she feels now doing “Dancing with the Stars,” the experience hasn’t come without its struggles.
Fishel acknowledged she has experienced some physical changes after her cancer diagnosis. She is on medications she needs to take because of the cancer, and they have side effects that can cause challenges.
“But there are pros and cons to everything. Medications that give me side effects are also keeping me cancer-free. So I’ll take it,” Fishel noted.
“Dancing with the Stars” fans are loving Fishel this season. On Extra’s Instagram page, one fan gushed, “I hope she wins, she’s such a sweetheart.”
On TikTok, another fan commented, “She looks so young here! She’s such a beautiful and TALENTED dancer!”
“Can we just have a camera on her all the time? She’s such a joy,” noted someone else.
Fans on TikTok also commented on Fishel’s partner for “Dancing with the Stars,” Pasha Pashkov, and how perfect he is for her.
One fan pointed out, “Pasha is the gentlest male pro and I truly believe he’s a healer…he works so well with women who have been through a lot.”
Another added, “Pasha is giving this kind, gentle and respectful vibe. He’s a real gentleman and you can tell by how all his partners tell only [good] things about him. And he’s handsomely charming as well, he’s a total package.”
