“Dancing With the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert Hough are the parents of a six-month-old now. The couple welcomed their daughter, Everley Capri Hough, on December 29, 2025. Now that she’s getting older, they’re experiencing many major “firsts” as a family.
In a new video, the Houghs documented Everley’s first flight as the family traveled to New York from their home in Los Angeles.
Although there was a small hiccup during the flight, Derek and Hayley Hough feel tremendously proud of their baby girl.
Derek Hough Documents Everley’s First Cross-Country Flight
This week, the Hough family is in New York for the premiere of their documentary, “The Symphony of Dance.” Now that Everley is six-months-old, they decided to take her along for the journey.
“Everley’s 1st plane ride to New York City to see mom and dads Documentry at @tribeca,” Derek Hough captioned an Instagram reel.
“Alright, first day traveling!” the 41-year-old filmed his wife carrying his daughter through the airport.
“First day traveling, first day flying,” Hayley Hough confirmed. “We had an instant blowout when we got to the airport so we’re off to a good start.”
Subsequent clips feature the family carrying bags through the airport and bouncing baby Everley while they wait to board the plane.
“We landed and I was like, ‘Man, she did such a good job,'” Derek shared once they reached their destination. “She was so good. I was holding her and I just felt my chest started getting wet and a nice vibration. She had a nice big old blowout on my shirt.”
The dancer cackles before ending the video, appreciating the realities of being a first-time father. Other Instagram users definitely related, sharing their own stories of taking babies on planes.
“I get nervous when I fly too and have the same reaction 😂” one fan quipped in the comments.
“I once rolled my son in his stroller into a ritz Carlton in only a diaper because he went through all the clothes I had packed for the plane. 😂” another added.
The Family Prepares For Their Summer Tour Together
Despite being new parents, Derek and Hayley Hough never gave up their dancing careers. In fact, the family of three is preparing for their 2026 Symphony of Dance summer tour. The show kicks off on June 24 in El Cajon, California, and runs through August 16 in Las Vegas.
Both Derek and Hayley have teased rehearsals and snippets from their show on their social media channels. Of course, Everley is in attendance to watch her parents make magic.
Though it will be quite some time before Everley Hough can join her parents on stage, many fans believe she will follow in their footsteps someday. For now, fans are excited to celebrate her milestones as her parents share them online.
Fans can expect to see Derek Hough and the rest of the DWTS crew return when season 35 kicks off this fall. “Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro” premieres on Monday, July 13 on ABC.
