“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,” Kimberly wrote.
“He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”
His family also created a fundraiser describing Van Der Beek as a devoted husband, father and friend whose presence deeply impacted those around him.
The message explains that after a long and courageous fight against cancer, he died on February 11, 2026, leaving behind Kimberly and their six children.
The fundraiser notes that throughout his illness, the family faced intense emotional strain along with significant financial challenges as they focused on his treatment and care.
Now, as Kimberly and the children look ahead, they are working to remain in their home and provide stability, including ensuring the children can continue their education.
According to the fundraiser, donations will help cover essential living expenses, outstanding bills, and school costs. The family added that every contribution, no matter the size, will help provide security and hope as they begin to rebuild their lives.
