Rumer Willis is packing up and embracing a fresh start.
The 37-year-old actress has officially relocated from Idaho to Nashville with her 3-year-old daughter, Louetta “Lou,” marking another major change for the mother-daughter duo.
Willis documented the cross-country move in an Aug. 12 Instagram Reel, showing her belongings being packed up and transported roughly 2,000 miles to her new home in Tennessee.
“Moving your whole life across the country is a leap of faith,” Willis wrote, describing the week as an emotional one before celebrating the milestone with, “New chapter, officially delivered.”
Willis Was Awarded Primary Physical Custody of Louetta
Willis received primary physical custody of Louetta on June 9 amid her ongoing custody case with Thomas, per Us Weekly. The former couple continues to share joint legal custody and agreed to undergo a custody evaluation.
The court also established a visitation schedule for Thomas, granting him parenting time every other weekend. His visits were initially monitored by one of Willis’ nannies, with unmonitored overnight visits scheduled to begin Aug. 22.
Willis and Thomas were also ordered to attend co-parenting counseling and use a co-parenting app to communicate.
Their custody dispute followed Willis’ previous move with Louetta from California to Idaho. Thomas maintained that he believed the relocation was temporary, while Willis said she had worked to facilitate his relationship with their daughter.
The former couple began dating in 2022 and welcomed Louetta in April 2023 before ending their relationship in 2024.
Willis’ time in Idaho carried a special family connection. Her parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, previously moved to the state while raising Rumer and her sisters, Scout and Tallulah.
In January 2025, Willis shared that she and Louetta were leaving the Los Angeles home she had lived in for nearly 14 years to begin a “new adventure” in Idaho, according to her Instagram post. Now, Nashville marks the next stop in their journey.
Rumer Willis Previously Opened Up About Choosing a New Path
The move comes after Willis previously reflected on making another difficult change in her life: ending her relationship with Thomas.
As reported in May, Willis said attending a friend’s wedding in June 2024 helped her realize that her relationship was not becoming the partnership she wanted.
Willis recalled holding Louetta and becoming emotional as she recognized she needed to make a change despite being afraid to do so.
She later described that period of her life as “really brutal and challenging,” but said moving forward helped her rebuild her confidence and reconsider what she wanted from a future relationship.
Through it all, motherhood has remained a major focus for Willis. She has called Louetta “such a gift” and has continued sharing glimpses of their life together while looking ahead to what may come next.
For now, that next chapter has officially brought Willis and her little girl to Music City.
As Willis put it herself, “New chapter, officially delivered.”
