Ryan Lochte is starting a new chapter and this one comes with a new address.
The “Dancing with the Stars” alum and Olympic swimmer revealed that he has moved in with girlfriend Molly Gillihan, marking a major step forward months after his ex-wife, Kayla Reid Lochte, announced their divorce. Lochte confirmed the move by sharing photos from inside their new home on Instagram, where he captioned the post, “Home Sweet Home 🏠 #moveinday @mollygilli.”
The update shows Lochte and Gillihan smiling and relaxed as they sit together on the floor of their living room, signaling a fresh start and a more settled phase in his personal life.
According to People, Lochte, 41, said the decision to move in together came after months of reflection, growth and focusing on what matters most to him, his children. The 12-time Olympic medalist shares three kids, son Caiden, 8, daughter Liv, 6, and daughter Georgia, 2, with Kayla.
A New Home and a Blended Family
Lochte told People that the past year has been centered on self-improvement and becoming a better father. He said he entered rehab, recommitted to his faith, began therapy and made changes that put his children first. As a result, he now has his kids 50 percent of the time.
Gillihan also brings three children of her own into the mix, making their household a blended family of six kids. Lochte said their children have formed a strong bond, which played a major role in the decision to live together.
“I fell in love with someone who shares those same values and who has three children of her own,” Lochte said. “Together, we’re a family of six kids. She’s my best friend, our kids have formed an incredible bond, and it became clear that being together under one roof was the right next step for all of us.”
He added that the couple chose a larger home to comfortably support their blended family and emphasized that creating a loving, stable environment is their top priority.
Moving Forward After a Difficult Year
The move comes several months after Kayla publicly announced the couple’s split in June 2025, following her filing for divorce earlier that spring. In court documents obtained by People in September, Kayla alleged that Lochte used drugs in front of their children and drove them while intoxicated. She also sought full custody.
Lochte has denied those claims, saying that while he has struggled with substance use in the past, he never used drugs around his children or drove them while impaired. He said he is focused on accountability, recovery and moving forward in a healthier direction.
Lochte and Gillihan have been dating since 2025 and met through their kids’ school in Gainesville, Fla., per People. They made their relationship Instagram official in July 2025 and have since shared family-focused moments on social media, including a post from October in which Lochte wrote that his “heart is just overflowing with happiness.”
Now settled into their new home, Lochte says this next step reflects growth, stability and intention. “We’re focused on creating a loving, stable environment for all of our children,” he said.
