WATCH: Scott Hoying Honors His Husband in DWTS Week 5 Performance

Pentatonix star Scott Hoying and his pro-partner, Rylee Arnold, took the ballroom from fun to full-on feels for “Dedication Night” on “Dancing with the Stars.” After lighting up the floor on “Disney Night” last week, the singer showed his softer side with a stunning foxtrot dedicated to his husband, Mark. And yep, it was every bit as emotional and elegant as you’d expect from the couple’s most personal performance yet.

WARNING: This post was updated LIVE as the October 14, 2025 episode aired and contains spoilers for Week 5 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

A Dance Straight from the Heart

Scott and Rylee’s “Dedication Night” performance wasn’t just a dance… it was a story. The song choice, Scott’s own “Parallel,” perfectly reflected his message to Mark. It made for a moment that was romantic, raw, and real. The choreography flowed beautifully, with graceful spins and sweeping movements that made the routine feel straight out of a fairy tale. And seeing Mark appear on the floor alongside Scott and Rylee was a great moment.

It seems like Scott’s finally settling into his groove on the dance floor. His posture, timing, and musicality have grown week after week, but this time, it was the emotion that hit hardest. Fans could feel the love in every step, and when the camera caught Rylee getting misty-eyed at the end; yeah, we all felt that.

A Transformation in the Making

Let’s be real, Scott’s transformation this season has been one of the most fun to watch. He’s gone from pop star confidence to legit ballroom contender, and Rylee’s choreography keeps bringing out his best side. There’s an ease between them that feels genuine; like teammates who trust each other completely. Every detail (from his expressions to his movement) felt like a thank-you in motion.

The Scores Are In

It seems like “Dedication Night” gave Scott a chance to connect on a deeper level; not just with the audience, but with himself. His growth has been steady, but this dance might just be the one that defines his DWTS journey.

  • Bruno Tonioli: 8/10
  • Derek Hough: 8/10
  • Carrie Ann Inaba: 7/10
  • Kym Johnson (Guest Judge): 7/10

That gives Scott and Rylee a total of 30/40. Whether or not he takes home the Mirrorball Trophy, he’s already proving that heart can outshine the glitter.

UPDATE: Everyone is SAFE! Scores will carry over to next week.
