Where Does Andie MacDowell Live? The Hallmark Star Left Hollywood for the South

Andie MacDowell may be a famous Hollywood star, and fans are used to seeing her character in the fictional town of Port Haven on Hallmark Channel’s hit show “The Way Home.” However, in real life, she lives in the South after leaving Los Angeles behind.

Andie Put Her L.A. ‘Storybook Tudor’ on the Market in 2023

“Though she bought it barely two years ago, actress Andie MacDowell has now decided to turn the page on her classic Storybook Tudor,” Robb Report told fans in September 2023. At the time, the star had popped “the property in the Eastside Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake back on the market for a dash under $4 million — or $100,000 less than she paid for the place amid a fierce bidding war back in November 2021.”

Robb Report noted that the home is found “[n]estled on a compact parcel, and separated from the street out front by a landscaped yard dotted with towering cypress trees.”

As for the house itself, “the whitewashed structure was originally built in 1928,” per Robb Report. “Recently remodeled, the two-story house features five bedrooms and four baths in a little more than 3,400 square feet of stylish, neutrally hued living space boasting blonde hardwood floors, gentle curves, high ceilings and lots of natural light.”

Andie Returned Home to South Carolina

For those who weren’t aware, Andie was born on April 21, 1958, in Gaffney, South Carolina. Although she spent time in both Los Angeles and Asheville, North Carolina, Southern Living reported in January 2025 that the star had “moved back to the South to find a happier life.”

Indeed, during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in January 2025, she told the host, “I’m happier now than I have been in a long time. … I moved to South Carolina, and I really, I’m taking good care of myself. It took me forever. Once my kids left, I felt this huge void in my life, because they were so important to me.”

Andie — who shares daughters Margaret Qualley (who appeared with her mom in 2021’s limited series “Maid”) and Rainey Qualley as well as son Justin Qualley, with her ex-husband, Paul Qualley — recalled, “Margaret really was kinda telling me I was supposed to be having the time of my life, but I wasn’t. But now I am. I’m having the time of my life now. It’s really good.”
