Cameron Mathison Delivers the Health Update Fans Have Been Waiting For

Fan favorite actor Cameron Mathison recently promised fans he would soon share a big health update. Now, he has delivered.

The actor, who currently plays Drew Cain on “General Hospital” and has also done numerous movies for Hallmark and Great American Family, had literally just rolled out of bed when he recorded his update. Fans didn’t mind a bit.

On February 10, Mathison took to Instagram to share the good news he received with his fans. He admitted that he knew he had promised to give everybody an update as soon as he had one, and he hadn’t.

However, the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” Hallmark alum noted that a lot of fans had been messaging him asking for the latest, so now he’s giving the fans what they want.

“I just wanted to let everybody know that I’m very, very, very, very grateful that they all came back clear,” Mathison revealed.

The star of Great American Family’s “Another Sweet Christmas” continued, “My kidney function is actually even better. It’s improved since last year.”

The clear test results mean that Mathison has now been cancer free for six years. “I could not be more grateful,” he added.

The Actor’s Fans & Colleagues Are Thrilled by the Good News

Mathison also thanked all of his fans for “all the texts and emails and DMs and questions about how I’m doing.”

He admitted that he had told everybody he would share the results when he received them, and he didn’t do that right away. In his new update Mathison admitted, “I didn’t really necessarily think that people would be waiting to hear about it.”

“That’s so sweet and that feels very, very good. So six years cancer free, super grateful,” Mathison concluded.

Mathison’s fans and colleagues flooded the comment section of his Instagram post with love.

Hallmark alum and Great American Family star Danica McKellar commented on Mathison’s post twice. One comment was just a string of red heart emojis. Another read, “This made my day!!”

“General Hospital” star Laura Wright commented with lengthy string of hand-clapping and red heart emojis. Their co-star Finola Hughes added, “So happy for you Cam.”

“The Bold and the Beautiful” star Don Diamont left an emoji-filled celebratory comment, as well.

A fan gushed, “Amazing news!! Congratulations. Very glad to hear that.”

“I’m so happy for you, Cameron. Your recovery from cancer is news that fills the heart with hope. You are strong, and your smile today is a true victory. Wishing you lasting health and a life full of light,” someone else wrote.
