Former Hallmark star Candace Cameron Bure revealed that she recently deleted an Instagram post after receiving uncomfortable comments. The post featured a photo of Bure in a swimsuit, and she removed it because she didn’t like the attention it was getting.
Bure addressed the situation in response to a fan question on her Instagram stories. “Did you post a bikini photo like yesterday then take it down?” the fan asked.
Bure responded, “Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of the summer. I was having fun.” She continued, “It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body.”
The “Full House” star concluded by writing, “It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”
Bure posted her response next to a photo of herself wearing a strapless yellow sundress and sandals.
Bure Recently Revealed She Still Struggles With Disordered Eating
During the July 22 episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast,” the actor opened up about her struggles with body image and revealed that she is still battling bulimia. “I, too, developed an eating disorder, when I was 18,” Bure told guest Lisa Whittle. “It was binging and purging. I’m a bulimic. And I still say I’m a bulimic.”
She clarified that she no longer engages in the behaviors associated with bulimia, but is still plagued with the thoughts that come along with the disorder. “The thoughts … they never leave me,” she explained. “So, I still need the tools to just say, ‘No, Candace, we’re not doing that.’”
Bure said that when she was growing up, she and her family were constantly dieting. “I’m on TV … and I don’t want to be too fat compared to other actors,” she said. “My parents never wanted a producer to come up to me and say, like, ‘We need your child to lose weight,’ so let’s do everything preventative.”

Although she felt uncomfortable enough to delete her recent bathing suit photo, Bure posted a different bikini pic to Instagram in July. She is pictured looking fit while lounging on a beach towel with a Diet Coke.
There was no discussion of her body in the comments, but some of her fans took issue with her choice of swimwear. “I think you’re wonderful, but this bikini is an occasion of sin,” one commenter wrote. Another chimed in to say, “Not a fan of the suit, pretty girl. Enjoy your vacay.”
