Hallmark’s newest movie, “Caught by Love,” premieres on Saturday, January 24 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. The film stars Luke Macfarlane and Rachael Leigh Cook. Read on to learn more about where it was filmed, including behind-the-scenes cast stories.
‘Caught By Love’ Was Filmed…
“Caught By Love” was filmed on location in Malta, according to cast and crew. Jake Alun, who starred as the resort manager, posted on Instagram that they filmed for three weeks in Malta.
In October, Cook posted that her parents visited Malta while she was there.
Some of the filming locations, according to 4Filming and A2ZFilming, included:
- Villa Bologna in Attard: This was the location of a number of elegant party scenes. The 18th century villa was a great site for the movie’s refined social gatherings.
- Salini Resort in Naxxar: This was the location of many resort scenes, including Salini’s own Giuseppi’s Bar & Bistro and poolside scenes.
- Golden Bay Beach in Melliena: This popular beach in Malta was the location of many of the film’s beach scenes.
Nichola Manners posted that she starred as an American influencer in the movie.
She wrote, “Filmed in beautiful Malta, this experience was truly unforgettable — from the stunning locations to the incredible cast and crew I had the privilege of working with.”
In an interview with TV Goodness, Macfarlane said he wrapped filming for a 2026 Christmas movie before heading to Malta for this one.
“I had to look on a map where Malta was,” he joked. “But then of course I fell in love and started to understand the history and the culture of it. I read books about the Siege of Malta and learned all about all the various people who had come and gone there…”
