Emilie Ullerup may be rethinking the old adage “dance like nobody’s watching” after realizing her neighbors may actually be watching. And listening.
On April 7, 2026, the longtime Hallmark star joked that she can no longer go out in public after she realized her stress-relieving workout antics were not as private as she thought.
Emilie Ullerup’s Spirit-Lifting Workout Ended in Fits of Laughter
In her Instagram Stories on April 7, Ullerup posted a black-and-white photo of herself after a workout, AirPods still in her ears and her hair up in a ponytail, laughing as she covered her face with one hand.
“Feeling the weight of the world,” Ullerup wrote over the photo. “Figured a workout would lift me. Went all in … AirPods in, noise cancellation on.”
The former “Chesapeake Shores” star explained that she “jumped, lifted, sang my heart out,” even on songs she didn’t know and that were “out of my range.” Then, when Ullerup “laid down to stretch,” she wrote, she looked to her right and noticed the “slider door wide open … Hello neighbors.”
Clearly embarrassed, Ullerup did her best to find the silver lining, writing, “But it worked. I laughed.”
The mom of two then adorably quipped, “And I’ll also be living in the studio forever now. Nice knowing you, can’t show my face again”
Kristoffer Polaha Compared Emilie Ullerup to Comedy Giant Lucille Ball
HallmarkWe have a feeling Ullerup will be just fine, since she’s never taken life too seriously, regularly posting funny observations and experiences in her Instagram Stories, and having fun on set whenever she can.
When she and Kristoffer Polaha reunited for their second rom-com together, January’s “Missing The Boat,” he told EntertainmentNow how blown away he was by her comedic timing and willingness to do anything for a laugh, from getting drenched to riding a donkey.
Comparing Ullerup to comedy great Lucille Ball, he explained that after the first day on set, “She was like, ‘I get what we’re doing, I get the story that we’re telling,’ and she was all-in and hilarious! We just had fun. She’s such a joy to work with — man, we had the best time.”
When Ullerup attended the LA premiere of Hallmark’s “Hope Valley: 1874” in March, she and series star Benjamin Ayres said they’d love to be paired up for a rom-com in the future.
Ayres told PressPassLA at the event, “We’ve been trying to angle for years to do a movie together, which we have yet to do, Hallmark … The chemistry is burning right now, as you can see.”
With perfect timing, Ullerup scrunched up her nose and joked, “Or it’s just the heat.”
