Hallmark’s prequel to “When Calls the Heart” is slated to debut on Hallmark+ soon, and fans cannot wait to get started. “Hope Valley: 1874” takes viewers to the days before Elizabeth, Nathan, Bill and the others built their community that everybody currently sees on WCTH.
The series stars Hallmark fan favorites Bethany Joy Lenz and Benjamin Ayres, and Jill Hennessy joins the series for her first Hallmark project.
On February 15, Hennessy shared several new photos taken while filming “Hope Valley: 1874” via her Instagram page. Her caption read, “GETTIN’ READY FOR THE GOLDRUSH…PREMIERES MARCH 21st!!!” Hallmark fans matched Hennessy’s level of enthusiasm with their responses.
Jill Hennessy Had a Blast Filming the Upcoming Hallmark+ Series
The first photo that Hennessy shared showed her in costume posing with several cast members. Filming equipment could be seen in the background, so it seemed this was a light-hearted moment of bonding between scenes.
Another photo showed a serene scene of a lake and mountains in the background with horses and actors in the foreground. The final picture that Hennessy included again showed her in costume, holding a tree branch and interacting with a dog.
Ayres commented, “Excited for everyone to Giddyup with us!”
Television writer and producer Ted Sullivan gushed, “Oh man!! Historical is my jam!! Nice!!”
Actor Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey, who also stars in “Hope Valley: 1874,” was in the initial photo in Hennessy’s post. He commented, “So happy to get to work with you Jill!!”
Hennessy replied to Gurnsey, writing, “I’m having the best time with you, dude!!! You are wonderful!!”
“Hope Valley: 1874” viewers may find they recognize Gurnsey from his time on “Virgin River,” where he played Ricky.
