Fans of “Mistletoe Murders” have something big to celebrate. Hallmark previously announced the renewal of the series, and now production is one step closer to having it ready to premiere.
As soon as the season 2 finale of “Mistletoe Murders” aired in November 2025, fans were begging for more. Sarah Drew, who stars in the show and is one of its executive producers, encouraged viewers to make their voices heard.
Luckily, Hallmark listened. On February 20, Drew and co-star Peter Mooney shared the renewal news in an Instagram post.
Now, filming is on the horizon.
An Initial Reading of the 1st Season 3 ‘Mistletoe Murders’ Script Just Took Place
On May 6, a new post on the “Mistletoe Murders” Instagram page revealed that production is officially underway. The photo posted showed a name card for Michelle Melanson, an executive producer for the show, along with the cover page of a script.
Text over the photo read, “Season 3 Readthru!”
The caption read, “SO exciting! Just a wee peek at the new scripts as we did our first cast readthru today!”
It continued, “Can’t wait to share more behind the scenes goodness with you all.”
Unfortunately, the photo was cropped in a way that ensured no spoilers were visible.
Hallmark fans were thrilled to learn that the cast is all together and preparing to film.
One fan commented to ask if there would be a time jump at the beginning of season 3, like there was for season 2. A response read, “You will have to wait and see!
Hallmark Fans Can’t Wait to Watch Season 3
So far, fall fans really know about season 3 of “Mistletoe Murders” is that it’s coming, and both Drew and Mooney are returning.
The comment section of the Instagram post was filled with responses from excited Hallmark fans.
“Oh can’t wait for #3, so exciting. Guess I’ll need to stream one and two again to catch back up,” one fan suggested.
Another fan wrote, “Great news, something special to look forward to watching. I loved the other seasons.”
Someone else gushed, “I’m so excited! Can’t wait for more fantastic story telling!”
Fans can likely look forward to additional teasers as “Mistletoe Murders” season 3 films. While filming season 2, Drew and others shared some fun updates from behind the scenes.
Unfortunately, toward the end of filming those episodes, Drew ended up in the emergency room. In a June 3 Instagram post, she explained, “Well, the last couple weeks have been very eventful. 10 days before we wrapped season two of Mistletoe Murders I broke my hand on set doing a stunt.”
Drew revealed that as she was at the hospital, “Something extraordinary” took place back on the set. The cast and crew pushed through and continued to film in her absence, using Drew’s stunt double to stand in for her.
Over the final days of filming season 2, the crew also figured out how to film around Drew having a cast on one hand. “Mistletoe Murders” viewers likely never noticed anything off about those last season 2 episodes.
Hallmark fans will be watching for updates as filming for season 3 of “Mistletoe Murders” moves forward, and everybody will be eager to get an official premiere date from the network.
