Ryan Paevey recently took to social media to share an important message with his fans. The “General Hospital” and Hallmark “Finding Mr. Darcy” star cautioned his followers about falling for people pretending to be him online, especially those asking for donations.
Ryan Paevey Promised Fans He’ll Never Contact Them Personally or Ask for Money
On February 13, Paevey posted a video on his Instagram page. In the caption, he wrote, “PSA about imposters….I know I’m not the only one. Please take this to heart.”
In the video, Paevey admitted he sounded “curt” as he passionately urged his fans to be aware of imposters. He noted he had spoken about this before.
Now, Paevey shared, he planned to pin this video to the top of his Instagram page so he wouldn’t “have to do this every three weeks for the rest of my life.”
Paevey acknowedged that he frequently gets messages form fans who are asking about these things. In fact, he said, he generally receives these types of questions every day.
“I only have one account, one Instagram account, this account,” Paevey declared.
He continued, “I’m not flying you to me, and I’m not flying me to you. There isn’t a super secret, Ryan Paevey VIP fan club that costs thousands of dollars to join, where you get a card… That’s not a thing. I’m just not that cool.”
Paevey told fans that he hadn’t purchased any of them cars or houses, and he promised he’s not going to fabricate any serious medical situations to solicit money from people.
The actor went on to tell fans that his finances are fine, explaining, “I take care of myself and my family, and that’s that. I treat this like a job. I go to work, I do my thing, and then I clock out.”
That means, Paevey added, “I don’t communicate privately, okay? It’s just not a thing that I do.”
The Hallmark Alum & ‘General Hospital’ Star Urges Fans to Be Careul
In addition, Paevey noted, he wants his fans to be especially aware of any attempted by scammers to use artificial intelligence (AI) to create something that sounds or looks like him to scam fans.
“You have to be extra cautious out there…some of it can be pretty convincing,” he urged.
He further explained, “No one that you know from film and television is gonna send you personalized video messages into your DMs, asking you for things, specifically not for money, okay?”
Paevey sells jewelry he makes, and as he noted, he sells it solely on his Fortunate Wanderer website. He added that his shop has been located at the same website address ever since he began it years ago.
The actor also told fans he doesn’t accept gift cards, and he specifically noted Sephora gift cards, which would seem to be one scam a fan was caught up in. He quipped, “Do I look like a Sephora guy?”
“I’m not asking you for Apple gift cards. No one is, okay? Be very, very cautious out there. They’re getting slick,” Paevey urged.
He added, “So take a moment. Think critically, and be careful, and please do not give strangers on the Internet money, all right?”

I think it is really good that Ryan is going to put this up as a header on his Instagram page.
Thank you,

Thank you for doing this. I have personally received both video and audio messages claiming to be from you. These scammers are getting very good and AI is helping them.
I still read updates but no longer respond even with a Like.
