‘Jimmy’ Has a Distributor in Place, Paving the Way for a November Theater Debut
The faith-based production company Burns & Co. Productions, led by Aaron Burns, is behind “Jimmy.” Deadline announced in February 2024 that Burns & Co. had acquired the rights to bring the Jimmy Stewart story to theaters.
Now, Burns & Co. has officially partnered with Fathom Entertainment to manage the U.S. distribution of “Jimmy.” The Stewart movie premiere date has been set as November 6 for some time now. With the addition of an official distributor, that date is now official.
Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt told Variety, “Fathom Entertainment is thrilled to partner with Burns & Co. and bring ‘Jimmy’ — the fascinating and inspiring story of the iconic American actor Jimmy Stewart — to the big screen.”
Nutt added that “Jimmy” is a “special film — filled with genuine heart and terrific performances — from a remarkable ensemble cast that brings Hollywood’s golden age and the battlefields of World War II vividly to life.”
In addition, Fathom Entertainment revealed that it will facilitate the return of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” one of Stewart’s most iconic movies, to theaters beginning on December 18. That marks the film’s 80th anniversary.
“Jimmy” stars “Riverdale” alum KJ Apa as Stewart, and Lilley plays his wife, Gloria Stewart. Drew plays Hedda Hopper, an iconic gossip columnist during that time.
Additional cast members include Jason Alexander, Neal McDonough, Kara Killmer, Max Casella, Christopher McDonald, Rob Riggle, Julian Works, and Jemma Donovan.
Jen Lilley Gushes Over the Incredible Cast of ‘Jimmy’
Lilley recently talked to WCIA about her role in “Jimmy.” She gushed over Apa’s work as Stewart.
“He did an impeccable job, nailed the accent, which was SO important,” Lilley raved. She added, “I mean, that is, like, 101, if you’re gonna convince us that you’re Jimmy Stewart, you’ve gotta get his voice right.”
Overall, Lilley gushed, “It’s got this INSANE cast.” She noted that it’s also garnering some award buzz.
One fan shared, “So excited to see this in November and I’m not even a Jimmy Stewart fan, I’m a @jen_lilley fan.” Lilley replied to the note, writing, “Awww! This movie will make you a Jimmy fan too. Love you.”
Someone else wrote, “Epic!! And I would have to agree it has an incredible cast, I mean, after all, it has Jen Lilley!”
“My favorite actress. I cannot wait to see this movie. I LOVE Jimmy Stewart,” shared another excited fan.
In a comment posted on the Jimmy Stewart Movie Instagram page about the interview, Lilley wrote, “Love you all! Love this project and the legend! What a powerful life testimony! So deeply honored to be a part of it!”
With the distribution of the Stewart movie in place, the “Jimmy” movie premiere date is an official go for November 6.

I definitely will be going to see this movie. This was a man who stayed the same person who came to Hollywood and became a star but never acted that way. He flew over 25 WWII Missions as a pilot and he lost his son in the Vietnam Conflict. A real man and hero.
This Jimmy Movie will be INCREDIBLE. It has 2 of my Favorite Actresses in it–Jen Lilley & Sarah Drew. They will make that Movie an Oscar Winner. I’ll Definitely will be watching it in November.
