Sarah Drew Gives Hallmark Fans a Sneak Peek at Her Next Big Role

Hallmark star Sarah Drew just shared some great tidbits from one of her latest projects.

Hallmark fans are eagerly waiting for news about a third season of “The Mistletoe Mysteries.” Unfortunately, that remains in limbo for the moment. However, everybody can now see a glimpse of Drew’s role in the upcoming Jimmy Stewart biopic titled “Jimmy.”

The 1st Trailer for ‘Jimmy’ Is Now Available

On December 17, Variety shared the first video preview of “Jimmy.” It won’t arrive in theaters until November 2026, but the initial sneak peek gave everybody plenty to talk about as they wait.

The film stars “Riverside” alum KJ Apa as Stewart. Variety shares, “The film chronicles Stewart’s decision to enlist and [become] a combat pilot and commander in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II after winning the best actor Oscar for his work in ‘The Philadelphia Story.'”

The Instagram page for the movie shared the new trailer as well, and the caption read, “While #ItsAWonderfulLife is playing in homes everywhere… The teaser trailer for #JIMMY, the untold true story of Jimmy Stewart’s most transformative season, is here.”

In an Instagram Story on Drew’s page, she hyped up the movie and wrote, “So grateful and excited for this…cheers Aaron Burns and everyone else involved you know who you are!”

Drew plays the character of Hedda Hopper, who was a photographer and actress before becoming a gossip columnist. While the new “Jimmy” teaser focuses on Apa as Stewart, there are one or two quick glimpses of Drew in the sneak peek as well.

The movie’s cast includes a lot of familiar names. Former Hallmark star Jen Lilley is Gloria Stewart, and “Seinfeld” alum Jason Alexander plays Louis B. Mayer. Additional cast members include Neal McDonough, Kara Killmer, Max Casella, Christopher McDonald, Rob Ribble, and Julian Works.

Burns directed “Jimmy,” and Justin Strawhand wrote the script.

‘Jimmy’ Includes A Fantastic Cameo & Is Lauded By Jimmy Stewart’s Daughter

As Variety noted, Stewart ultimately achieved the rank of colonel and flew 20 missions during World War II. However, upon returning home, he struggled and felt “broken and disheartened,” the media outlet shared.

It was after his return home after the war that Stewart landed his role playing George Bailey in the now-iconic “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

“Jimmy” includes a cameo by Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the age of 6. Her character in the legendary film said the iconic line, “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.”

Grimes, now 85, shared that it had been “an incredible experience” to be involved in “Jimmy.”

She explained, “‘Jimmy’ carries forward the values and emotional warmth that audiences have cherished for decades. It’s truly an honor to return to the screen and take part in a film that pays tribute to one of the most enduring stories in cinematic history.”

Grimes added, “I feel deeply grateful to have been invited to step back into a world that has meant so much to my life and the lives of so many others.”

Stewart’s daughter, Kelly Stewart-Harcourt, is an executive producer for the film. She told Variety, “I have long thought that it would be hard to find an actor who could bring my father to life without doing an extended Jimmy Stewart impersonation.”

“But that actor has been found and his name is KJ Apa,” Stewart-Harcourt added. She noted she visited the set in September as filming took place in Ireland, and “I felt magic.”

“I know this will be conveyed in the film, and I can’t wait to see it,” Stewart-Harcourt added.
