The new movie debuting on Hallmark on Saturday, April 18, is titled “To Philly with Love.” The film stars Rebecca Dalton and Stephen Huszar, and Hallmark fans will want to know all the scoop about where it was filmed and who the cast is.
‘To Philly with Love’ Filmed in Both Philadelphia & Ottawa
Given the title of the new Hallmark movie, fans might think that filming took place solely in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While the cast and crew did film in Philadelphia, the film wasn’t entirely filmed there.
According to Moviedelic, “To Philly with Love” was filmed partially in Philadelphia and partially in Ontario, Canada. Specifically, the site noted, in the Ottawa area of Canada.
The movie began filming in November 2025 and wrapped in mid-December.
The storyline revolves around Emma, played by Dalton, who is a teacher. She receives love letters that belonged to her grandmother, which were written during the Revolutionary War, and she wants to learn more about them.
It turns out, the letters were written in code. She struggles to decipher them, so she reaches out to an archivist named Nate, played by Huszar, for help.
Hallmark teases that the pair’s quest to decode the letters takes them “on a thrilling journey through Philadelphia, where they uncover history — and discover a love story of their own.”
While Hallmark frequently films entirely in Canada, the setting for this one required a shift to make the storyline authentic. Emma and Nate’s Philadelphia adventures take them through LOVE Park and past iconic landmarks such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Center, John F. Kennedy Plaza, and Independence National Historical Park.
A few scenes that include the National Archives made it into “To Philly with Love,” too.
In addition, the movie used the City of Ottawa Archives as a stand-in for the Philadelphia National Archives for some scenes in the movie.
