Tyler Hynes Reveals Jaw-Dropping Feat While Filming New Hallmark Movie (EXCLUSIVE)

In his eight years of making hit Hallmark movies, Tyler Hynes’ fans have come to know him as a kind-hearted heartthrob, skilled skateboarder, rugged Harley rider, cool uncle to his nieces, and a proud mama’s boy. What the Hynies — and Hynes himself — never expected was for the actor to become a self-professed “sports guy.”

But since filming Hallmark’s first NFL-themed rom-com, the 2024 hit “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” Hynes has had a blast uncovering his inner sports fan, from cheering on the Chiefs to supporting his hometown Toronto Blue Jays at the 2025 World Series.

The actor joked with EntertainmentNow late last year, “It is kind of, like, gross how much I’ve transcended into this, like, deep sports guy. Like, you know, butt-patting my friends, ‘Good hustle in that scene!'”

Hynes’ first Hallmark movie of 2026 — “I’ll Be Seeing You,” which he developed and executive produced — features another sporty twist, with scenes filmed on a golf course. Teeing off during filming reminded him of the first time he went golfing and unintentionally achieved an incredible feat that belongs in the record books.

Tyler Hynes Says His Golfing Buddy Was Amusingly ‘Furious’ Over His Amazing Shots

In “I’ll Be Seeing You,” Hynes plays Mark, a senior center activities director who helps Stacey Farber’s character, Amy. Hallmark’s logline says, “When a work errand derails Amy’s weekend plans with her grandma, they embark on a road trip with one sentimental detour but need the help of a charming activities director.”

Photos published on Hallmark Channel’s website show the cast, which includes Hynes’ “Holiday Touchdown” co-star Christine Ebersole, playfully competing on a golf course. While filming the movie in Vancouver in September 2025, Hynes posted pics in his Instagram Stories of himself swinging a club on set.

He told EntertainmentNow at the time that he hadn’t been on a golf course in years — and that he didn’t quite have the same success on set that he’d had on his first time playing.

“I haven’t swung a golf club in a long time, nor do I really play golf,” Hynes said during filming. “The only golfing I’ve done was for a moment in Los Angeles with a couple of friends of mine, when we got into it for about 10 seconds because there was a little golf course around my place.”

“And the first time I hit a ball, first time I did it, I swung a club and I got a hole in one,” he laughed. “My buddy, who plays a lot of golf, was next to me, and he was like, furious. He’s like, ‘I’ve been playing golf forever. I’ve never got a hole in one. And your first time swinging a club, you hit a hole in one!?'”

Tyler Hynes Beat Serious Odds With Holes-in-One

Tyler Hynes talks about why he’s become such a sports fan since filming “Holiday Touchdown.”

Recalling how stunned his buddy was over him hitting a hole-in-one during his first round of golf, Hynes told EntertainmentNow that he “really did not think it was a big deal.” However, the PGA of America says the odds of an average golfer making a hole-in-one are 12,500 to 1. No word on the odds of it happening to a first-time golfer!

That would have been impressive enough for Hynes to brag about for the rest of his life. But the “Three Wisest Men” star revealed that he shocked his buddy again when, later in that round, “I hit another. I’m like, ‘Oh, sweet.’ And he was like, ‘This doesn’t happen!'”

His friend was right; according to the PGA, the chance of one player hitting two holes-in-one in the same round is a jaw-dropping 67-million-to-one. Humble as ever, Hynes said he thinks he received a “plaque or piece of paper or something” for his accomplishment.

Curious how he’d do on the golf course while filming his new movie, he told EntertainmentNow, “We were shooting, and I stole the club from somebody and swung it, and it kind of worked. I was like, ‘Oh, this is fun.’ But I haven’t gotten a hole-in-one since that time.”

“I’ll Be Seeing You” premieres on Hallmark Channel on April 25 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
