Though Emmys, Tonys, and Oscars are coveted awards among actors, there’s actually one honor that may be even harder to achieve: a custom Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornament. In 2026, Tyler Hynes will become only the second Hallmark Channel fan-favorite to get his own ornament, and collectors are already buzzing about it.
Hynes’ ornament follows the 2025 release of a Lacey Chabert ornament, which was the first design to celebrate a beloved Hallmark Channel star. Hynes told EntertainmentNow he was surprised when Hallmark reached out about collaborating on the trinket last fall, but loved learning the process, working with the “really skilled” artists, and seeing the finished product — a bust of himself (which he hilariously called his “floating head”) full of specific details his fandom is sure to love.
First Photos: Tyler Hynes Recalls Funny Versions Before Final Ornament Design
HallmarkBuzz has been building on social media about the new Tyler Hynes ornament in recent days. Hallmark released its 2026 “Dream Book” to its Keepsake Ornament Club (KOC) members on April 10, with a sneak peek at all of the new designs available this year, per a Hallmark spokesperson. The Dream Book and ornament product page are slated to go live for the public on April 24.
According to the Dream Book, the Tyler Hynes ornament was designed by artists Bruce Bibler and Emma Laturgez-Smith. Retailing for $24.99, it will be available for purchase in October.
Notoriously humble and self-depricating, Hynes told EntertainmentNow that in the design process, he had to shift from his typical mindset (“I just assume nobody wants anything to do with me,” he actually said) to being okay with so many people paying such close attention to his features. He was comforted to know real pros were working on the ornament, but also a bit worried about how it would turn out.
“This is what dawned on me,” he said. “It’s really easy for you to look like something or somebody else. What if people were like, ‘Ohhh, it doesn’t look like him at all.’ I didn’t want that. But these artists are known in this space. People collect their (designs), they appreciate the details.”
“We went through different iterations of this, and if I showed you the earlier iterations, you would laugh,” Hynes smiled. “One was, like, far too jacked — I looked like a muscular version of myself. And then there was another one where we went the other way, and I looked like a worn-out old man.”
“I think we landed in a place that looks like it’s in the vicinity — it looks reasonably like me,” Hynes said, and then quipped, “But finding ways to describe my face, and analyze my face in a way that I’d never wanted to do? I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.”
Tyler Hynes’ Hallmark Ornament Features All the Right Details
Joshua ShultzAfter Hynes’ first Hallmark movie, 2018’s “Falling For You,” the Canadian-born actor quickly became a fan-favorite and has since starred in more than 25 Hallmark rom-coms. He’s developed a global fandom (called Hynies) that is so devoted, there’s even a documentary in the works about them.
Hynies are sure to notice many intricate and clever details incorporated into the ornament’s design, which bears an uncanny resemblance to photos of Hynes taken by his friend Joshua Shultz, who also collaborated with him on his 2024 coffee table book.
The ornament features Hynes’ black leather jacket worn in 2023’s “Picture of Her,” hazel-green eyes, and the closely-trimmed beard and soul patch he’s sported since 2020’s “Winter in Vail” (co-starring, incidentally, with fellow ornamented Hallmark star Lacey Chabert).
Hynes’ bust even includes his distinct eyebrow slit, which is actually an unintended “scar on top of a scar” from his youth. Although Hallmark’s team offered to fill it in on the ornament, the “Groomsmen” opted to keep it, noting, “I just think, you know, why would anybody hide a scar? They’re all just pieces of our face and our stories.”
HallmarkHallmark even included a trio of golden charms hanging from the ribbon that not only symbolize important things in his life, but replicate several charms Hynes has made available for his independently-created charm bracelet, introduced in 2024 — a connected heart, his beloved pup Rusty, and another that honors the actor’s Boot Shot Tradition.
Last but not least, the ornament version of Hynes features a candy cane tucked behind his ear. That’s not just holiday flair, but a nod to his character in the “Three Wise Men” trilogy. Only thing missing? Hynes’ ornament is without the star’s signature toothpick dangling from his mouth or tucked behind his other ear, but that could be a particularly fragile design element Hallmark preferred to forgo.
Like Lacey Chabert’s Ornament, Tyler Hynes’ Bust Honors His Immense Popularity Among Hallmark Fans
Since Hallmark Cards, Inc. began producing its popular Keepsake Christmas ornaments in the early 1970s, the company has released over 8,500 designs and inspired over 500 local chapters of collectors across the U.S. and Canada, per Visit KC. Hallmark’s ornament designs range from holiday fare like angels and Santas to pop culture trends, such as Disney princesses and Star Wars characters.
It’s very rare for a Hallmark ornament to feature an actual person like Chabert and Hynes, but not completely unheard of. A series of Marilyn Monroe ornaments was launched in the late 90s, for instance, and a variety of Elvis Presley ornaments have been issued over the years.
Before Hynes’ new ornament hits store shelves in October, he’s staying very busy. He just wrapped filming a new Christmas movie, and his first Hallmark movie of 2026, “I’ll Be Seeing You,” premieres on April 25. Catch it at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Hallmark Channel, or you can stream it via Hallmark+ the following day.
