Brooke Hogan is laughing at herself after an awkward on-set moment while filming “Rock the Block”—and fans can’t get enough of the story.
Taking to Instagram, Hogan shared what she called a “funny story” from behind the scenes of the popular HGTV competition show, revealing how a joke she thought would land perfectly ended in total silence.
All About the Reference
To set the scene, Hogan referenced a viral moment involving Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey on “Love Is Blind.”
“If you watch ‘Love Is Blind’ you will understand the ‘obviously I’m Nick Lachey,’” she explained, recalling how Vanessa introduced herself and Nick followed with the now-infamous line.
“I think he meant that like obviously I’m her husband,” Hogan said, noting how the moment took on a life of its own online, with viewers reacting strongly to it.
Inspired by the reference, Hogan decided to try her own version of the joke while filming “Rock the Block.”
During a cast introduction segment, she said producers asked everyone to share who they were and what they’re known for.
Hogan’s Joke Didn’t Land
That’s when Drew Lachey entered the picture.
“And Drew goes ‘I’m Drew Lachey,’” Hogan recalled. Thinking quickly, she responded, “obviously.”
What she expected to be a playful callback didn’t quite land.
“And nobody reacted,” she admitted. “He deadpanned me. I was so, so embarrassed. I was like whoops.”
Hogan leaned into the humor in her caption, joking about the moment and poking fun at herself.
“Sorry Drew, I thought I was the first person who came up with that joke and had the stones to say it to you,” she wrote, adding, “Hopefully it made the cut.”
She also encouraged fans to tune in to the new season of the show, writing, “Watch HGTV’s new season of ROCK THE BLOCK with ME … and Drew Lachey, obviously.”
Fans quickly flooded the comments with support, with many finding the story just as funny as Hogan intended.
“Omggg this is hilarious,” one user wrote, while another praised her “comedic timing.”
Others encouraged her to keep being herself, embracing the lighthearted moment.
Even Ty Pennington joined in, dropping a laughing emoji and adding a simple “obviously.”
Hogan is one of four celebrities teaming up with HGTV design experts for Season 7 of Rock the Block, where competitors renovate homes in a high-stakes showdown.
While the joke may not have landed in the moment, it clearly struck a chord online—proving that sometimes the most awkward stories end up being the most entertaining.
