Jenny Marrs is inching closer to the release of her new book and she’s taking a moment to reflect on a bittersweet feeling. The HGTV star excitedly announced the upcoming book drop, but noted how it’s difficult for her that her neighbors will never get to read it.
Jenny Marrs Is ‘Reminded of the Intermingling of Joy and Sorrow’ in Life
On September 8, Marrs took to Instagram to show off a physical copy of her new book, “Trust God, Love People.”
“It’s in print, black and white, feels surreal,” she said in the video. “There’s a lot of work that went into this book and I’m so excited to share it with you guys.”
Though she’s celebrating the upcoming release, Marrs shared that there is sorrow “intermingling” with joy in this moment.
“My advanced copy of my new book, ‘Trust God, Love People,’ just arrived,” she explained in the caption. “I was so excited to get a copy to share with my neighbor, Jill. I knew the stories of Bob on these pages would make her smile. I can’t believe she’ll never read it.”
Marrs continued, “Once again, I’m reminded of the intermingling of joy and sorrow in this life. I’m celebrating the countdown to launch day and grieving the loss of my friend earth side. If anyone taught me about loving people well, it was our beloved neighbors, Bob and Jill. I learned so much about slowing down, showing up and living a life of loving well from the two of them.”
The HGTV star added, “I hope this book honors their legacy well. It feels like Divine timing to be holding it in my hands today: A reminder that God is close to the brokenhearted.”
On September 6, Marrs shared the passing of her friend and neighbor Jill in a touching tribute. She wrote, in part, “Just four months after we said goodbye to her beloved and our dear Bob, we find ourselves wading again in the shocking waves of grief as we mourn the earth-side loss of our Jill.”
The HGTV star noted, “I know she is no longer in pain and I’m grateful for the promise of Peace for eternity. She and Bob are smiling big together, again. Rest in peace, my friend. I’ll miss you down here.”
