Jenny Marrs Addresses Fans’ ‘Controversial’ Questions, Reveals ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Secrets

Jenny Marrs answered fans’ most frequently asked questions about “Fixer to Fabulous” in an eye-opening Q&A video. The HGTV star addressed the burning questions viewers always have about the hit show.

Jenny Marrs Reveals Top ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Secrets

On February 13, Marrs took to Instagram to give fans answers to the questions she receives the most.

“Welcome to Friday Q+A with Jenny! This week we’re tackling two of your most asked questions,” she noted in the caption. “What should we cover next week? Leave your questions in the comments below.”

In the video, Marrs noted, “These are hot topics … controversial. I always get these questions every time a new episode airs.”

She continued, “Number 1: why are the books on the bookshelves turned backwards?”

While the HGTV star has addressed this in the past, it’s worth going over the reason again.

“We have to follow copyright laws,” she noted. “So, if we show the spine of the book with the title and the author’s name, we have to get a release to do that because it’s not our work … and so we have to be able to release that from the author.”

When there are a lot of books on display, that process would be “very hard to do” and “time consuming,” Marrs noted.

“So we turn them backwards,” she explained. “Solves the problem and also, aesthetically, it looks really nice because it’s nice and clean on camera.”

Jenny Marrs Addresses TV Controversy

Marrs continued on with the second question: “Why do we not hang a television set?”

“Somebody asked me, what do I have against TVs? I don’t have anything against TVs, I promise!” she shared.

“For the most part, they are essentially a giant mirror, so it’s really challenging for our camera operators when they’re filming the reveal to work around a giant mirror because you would see them in the mirror,” the HGTV star explained. “We can’t have that.”

Marrs noted, “So, we just don’t hang a TV. We always wire for the TV โ€” we prepare the space so that after the reveal, the homeowners can hang their TV.”

“But we use art in the meantime to look beautiful and to give us the look we want without having a big mirror,” she added.

Fans flooded the comments section, thanking Marrs for pulling back the curtain on these HGTV mysteries.

“How interesting! I’ve often wondered about the books and TV … makes perfect sense now,” one fan wrote. “Thank you my dear.”

“Holy cow! I thought the book thing was a design choice,” one stunned fan remarked.

Another follower commented, “So awesome to know! I knew about the books but just guessed about the TV. Thank you!”

One fan shared that they appreciate the show not including a TV in the design, while others noted that they like how the books look arranged backwards.
